Home away from home.
Submitted: September 7, 2012
Stayed: August 2012
We just returned from staying in this home for all of August 2012.
We found the home to be centrally located to all the usual tourist hotspots and yet in a quiet cul de sac.
The added security of a gated community provided extra peace of mind. The home is in a conservation area. To me this was a massive bonus as I witnessed and enjoyed the local wildlife. We witnessed raccoons, armadilloes, squirrels, numerous birds. A pair of huge crested cranes and a pair of large sandhill cranes which appeared to live in the community, we also had the pleasure of watching a large owl as it devoured its prey less than 100 yards from the home.
The home is off Old Lake Wilson Road., near the county line,It is about half a mile from the I-4 junction which is the central thoroughfare to all attractions. If you rather avoid the interstate Old Lake Wilson road connects to the 192 (Irlo Bronson Mem. Hwy) if you follow it for approx 3.5 miles. This is right next to Disneys Maingate. Although it is centrally located to all roads there was never an annoying traffic background sound.
The listings were perfectly accurate and the photos are recent. The home is well maintained with a comfortable ambience.
The owners Steve and Barb were wonderful to deal with and answered any and all questions. We have rented many accommodations in Orlando and in our opinion it is fitted with all the comforts of home.
It is about 10 mins from Disney, 15 to Sea World and approx 25 mins to Universal.
Most attractions including the Busch shuttle have pick up points on the 192 making it a perfect location.
Shopping is also quite close. About 15 mins to Lake Buena Vista Factory stores, 20 to Premium outlet on LBV, 30 mins to Premium outlets on I drive. Also 30 mins to the Florida mall. There is a publix and Mc Donalds literally 5 mins away, and a walmart about 15 mins away, There are also many restaurants and eateries on the 192 and I-drive.
My adult family of 6 enjoyed staying here immensely. We had lots of room, There was more than enough cutlery ,crockery and bedding and towels etc.
The view from the pool deck has to be seen to be believed.
The only negative ( which is probably a positive to sun worshippers ) is that the only shelter in the deck area is a patio umbrella.Been a very fair family who burn easily this meant we never used the patio furniture, but it did not deter us from making full use of the pool.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.
We hope to return.in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you Louie. This is a wonderful review that shows how close our home is to all that the Orlando area has to offer, yet provides a quiet, comfortable escape from it all. We are so glad you enjoyed the conservation and the many animals and birds that are at home there. As the pool is south facing it does receive maximum sun each morning through early afternoon, but the west wing provides some welcome shade in the later afternoons onward. We find we are escaping the summer heat waves by staying indoors when not using the pool, but in the winter and on more moderate summer days it is very pleasant all day and evening outside. The umbrella is large and can be moved around for maximum coverage.
