Cleaning service is provided twice a week. There is a porter on duty at the main entrance 24 hours a day.
Across the street to the north, Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens offers a place to walk, run, ride, and row. There is a children's playground as you enter the park. And you can take your soap box on a Sunday to the ultimate free speech forum at Speaker's Corner -- make your views known on anything from abortion to the price of beer.
Many museums, including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum (the V & A), are only a few minutes' walk away. At the Albert Hall (about the same distance) there are concerts, both classical and popular, several nights a week. Buckingham Palace is about a ten-minute walk in the other direction. And theatre (or theater, depending upon your preference!) is available nearby.
The flagship Burberry store and Jaeger store are in the Park Mansions building.
The inimitable Harrods, with its acres of Food Halls and other delights, is across the street to the southwest. Sloane Street offers many stores such as Cartier, Lalique, Vuitton, Armani, Dior, Yves St. Laurent, and other equally famous stores. Banks and American Express are down the street, together with drug stores, groceries, and newsagents.
