Nestled in a corner of 15 wooded acres that may be hiked, Falling Waters has a peaceful, back to nature appeal. The cabin is perfect for honeymooners, couples, or small families who want to enjoy a little solitude and comfort in a private mountain setting, but not too far from restaurants and the nightlife of downtown Asheville. Two bedrooms and one bath, modern eat-in Kitchen. A cozy firebox lends ambiance and warmth to the living room with cable TV and free internet access. The driveway is gravel, level, and accessible by any vehicle. Pet Friendly!
Answers to Frequent Questions: The cabin is screened from the nearest neighbor and roadway by trees and hilly terrain. The driveway is gravel and level, so a regular car may be driven right up to the cabin. Level Kitchen door entry. The front porch (3 steps) is gated. The family owned property is comprised of fifteen acres of woods, with a trail to the top of the mountain for exercising your pet and enjoying a different view of the surroundings.

They have a full service pharmacy, movie rentals, extended shopping hours, self-checkout, and accept major credit cards. Black Mountain (10 miles) has many wonderful restaurants; we can personally recommend the Black Mountain Bistro, My Father's Pizza, Veranda Cafe and Las Quezelas. For those who like atmosphere with their coffee, visit the Dripolator Coffeehouse on State Street.
We live in Northern Virginia and manage this cozy little cabin on behalf of Lorna's father, Brett, who resides with us. Before it became a vacation rental, we enjoyed many visits to the cabin with our children as did Lorna's sisters and their families.
Bob and Lorna purchased this cabin in 1990
The cabin was purchased to accommodate family and other out of town visitors and it's renovation was one of my father's many projects. We now rent it through Homeaway and VRBO so that others can enjoy Swannanoa, Black Mountain and Asheville as much as he did.
Built in 1932, the Cabin was renovated and modernized in 1992. A complete overhaul of the exterior and interior was done in 2010. Furnishing and linen changes are made on an ongoing basis to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our guests. The Cabin is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The waterfall can be viewed from the deck (or hot tub), and the general tone of the property is quiet, relaxing comfort.
This was the perfect getaway. Everything was clean and working well. TV and DVD player was a bonus. Having VS on cable so I could watch the Tour de France was the cherry on top. I could not ask for anything more!
Nice little home in the trees. Clean and conveniently located to Black Mountain and Asheville. Thanks for opening your house for us to enjoy!
The cabin has everything you may want, down to card games and crayons. The jacuzzi is a nice detail, as is the sound of the brook right outside your window. The best!
My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days to just be together and relax. We were able to do just that! Such a clean, serene place to stay. We have been on alot of vacations in 30 years but staying at this cabin was the best time of our life. We WILL be back!
Wow! What a wonderful stay from the beautiful scenery to the great people. The house was a perfect getaway and we recommend the stay to all that are in need of a romantic getaway. The location of the house next to the stream and having to ford the stream to gain access was very cool. The food at the Black Mountain Bistro was very good and plentiful. We recommend to all that visit. Thank you Lorna and Bob for the use of your home.
We traveled up from Florida for a chance to enjoy Thanksgiving in the mountains. The cabin was very cozy and so much nicer than staying in a hotel. We felt right at home and found the kitchen stocked with everything we needed. It was a little cold for us to hang out on the porch for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening but it only made us want to come back another time to enjoy that feature! We did try out the hot tub the first night which was a treat, even with the scramble to get in and out of the house quickly! :) Our dog had a blast too. The distance of the cabin from town and neighboring Asheville and Black Mountain was extremely convenient and we were glad to have chosen the rental in this location. Thanks so much for making our holiday memorable and enjoyable!
We enjoyed our stay at this fantastic cabin. It was so peaceful to relax on the deck and listen to the sound of the waterfall. The view from the hot tub was beautiful. There was also enough clearing of trees to star gaze! The property was very well maintained and clean. I highly recommend Brett's Falling Waters Cabin and look forward to returning next year!
A four-wheel drive vehicle is not needed to reach Brett's Falling Waters Cabin. Full service grocery shopping, ATM, Banking, Gas Stations within 4 miles. Falling Waters Cabin is just 3 miles from Warren Wilson College and minutes away from the Village of Black Mountain, Montreat College, and UNC Asheville. Go driving and hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, entry at Milepost 382; Visit the Biltmore Estate, take a Trolley Tour of downtown Asheville, wander the shops of Black Mountain.
