Come and relax in this beautiful 1600 sq. ft. log home, which is located on the edge of the Challis Chipmunk Ski Hill. This home is located just 5 minutes above Challis and has easy access to hunting, fishing and ATV trails! The cabin is very secluded and peaceful.

We also have a bungalow just outside the rental cabin that can also be rented. The bungalow has a queen bed and sitting area with a bathroom. If you would like to rent this along with the rental cabin, mention this to the owners.

The cabin is located in the middle of hundreds of miles of roads and ATV trails. You can ride to Bayhorse Lake from the cabin. Buster Lake is also only 7 miles up the canyon. You can drive a 4 wheel drive outfit to this lake. Custer Way is down at the bottom of the hill. This drive will take you to several old cabins and ultimately to Yankee Fork. There is also Mosquito Flat Reservoir 11 miles away. You can drive to all these. Keystone Mine is also just a few miles up the canyon.

Fishing is also all around you. The Salmon River is 8 miles down the canyon, There are also numerous lakes and streams that have abundant fish.

Winter Conditions: During the months of November - March, a four-wheel drive vehicle is a must to drive 3/4 of a mile up to the cabin. With proper notice, this type of transportation can be arranged for you by the owners.

There are multiple lakes within minutes of the cabin. There are numerous ATV trails right out the back door. Challis Hot Springs is a great place to relax. The majestic Twin Peaks and Mount Borah are in the surrounding area. Hunting for big and small game are easily accessible. The Challis Chipmunk Ski Hill is right in front of the property. There are many historic mining towns that you can explore. There is awesome fishing and white water rafting on the Salmon River, which is minutes away. You are very secluded for a time to enjoy nature and rest.

This cabin was truely a cabin nestled in the mountains! Secluded, quiet, relaxing and comfortable. It was clean and beautifully decorated. Roomy and maintained with desired amenities. The owners are very informative and accommodating. Any questions were answered and any concerns were addressed with truthful answers. That being said, the desciption of 2 bedrooms plus loft is a bit deceiving. The bed room down stairs is a beauiful large well equipt private room. The second bedroom is acually part of the loft with no privacy from the futon and hidabed. It is a great area and worked out wonderfully for us however shouldn't be confused as a 2 private bedroom unit. All in all I rate this cabin very very nice and hope to return. I would recommend it to anyone who required the needs it has to offer. Great memories were had!

Wonderful week long getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It is wonderfully equipped. We couldn't ask for more. Day one we had a private catered dinner at the cabin. Vicky from the Y-Inn is a wonderful cook. Day two we drove the Custer Motorway and picnicked by a stream. Day three a hike in the Sawtooth, followed by dinner at Redfish Lake Lodge. Deliscous! Thank you Sawtooth Mountain Guides. Day four, sleep in (Don't forget to do that.) and a good soak at the Challis Hot Springs. Day five, horseback riding and viewing of the wild horses. Wow! Thank you Mike and Louise of White Cloud Outfitters. Day six, Bayhorse ghost town and a drive up to Bayhorse Lake. Beautiful. We ended day seven with a relaxing float down the Salmon. Once again, thanks Mike and Louise. In short, don't let anyone tell you there is nothing to do in Challis, ID. We hated to leave our cabin hide-away. If it wasn't for the Needs and there wonderful cabin, it never would have happened. Don't miss out on this wonderful hide away. :)

We loved this place. The way it was described was "spot on", and we were actually overwhelmed by the landscape, and it's vastness here. Real people in town, all were nice. You can find just about everything you need right in Challis.
The cabin is very comfortable, and has what it needs. Views right from outside are also awesome.
We would love to visit again, and might just do so if we can! Would recommend it for those looking for quiet, wonderful scenery, and a vast area to explore.

My family and I were so please with the cabin. The location being remote was just what we wanted and when we opened the door it won us over completely. We will make this one of our favorite family spots in the future. We will recommend to everyone we know!
