With all of the activities available on-site at Northstar, many guests never leave the resort during their stay! If you decide to see some of the local sites, the historic town of Truckee is only six miles to the north and Lake Tahoe and the Nevada casinos are six miles to the south. Our beautiful condo is located in Northstar-at-Tahoe, a four season, destination resort. If you haven’t visited Northstar recently, a completely new Village at Northstar awaits you! You’ll find a variety of shopping options, including clothing stores, galleries, several food and beverage choices (from take-out to fine dining), a specialty chocolatier, photography and video services, and more! There’s a pedestrian friendly plaza, fire pit and a 9000 square foot ice skating rink! It’s a perfect place to gather during the day or after skiing.

Northstar is consistently rated as one of the top western ski resorts -- not only for skiing, but also for its family programs, kid-friendly winter getaway program, and customer service. There are 63 downhill runs covering 2,420 acres of terrain, and 2,200 feet of vertical drop. Extensive snow making facilities cover 50 percent of the runs, ensuring outstanding snow conditions. The runs are rated: 25% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 25% advanced. You'll enjoy a sophisticated network of lifts that quickly take you to several locations on the mountain. You're ensured of spending maximum time on the slopes, and minimum time waiting in lift lines. Snowboarders will enjoy half-pipes, berms, and jumps, as well as having access to the entire mountain. Cross-country skiers will enjoy 65 kilometers of groomed trails offering track, skating, and telemark options. Warming huts and picnic tables are spread throughout the trail system.

Other local ski areas include Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Royal Gorge. Lessons and rentals are available for downhill and cross-country skiers, as well as for snowboarders. The minors Camp Day Care is open for children ages two to six (must be toilet-trained). In summer the ski runs become mountain bike trails. You'll be carried to the top of the mountain on the inter-connecting lifts. Summer activities include tennis, an 18-hole golf course, horseback riding, a climbing wall, ropes course, and fly-fishing.
