Beachfront Condo

While still busily working, we decided the stresses of our careers required more quality play time. To that end we researched everywhere that was commutable from Orlando. We wanted something that would be easy to get to, have great amenities and be close to major attractions such as Disney, Sea World, Universal, the space coast and St. Augustine. Whatever we chose would have to be comfy enough for long term living and full time retirement someday. We also enjoy going out to movies and to truly fine dining, not just run of the mill tourist restaurants. Of all the places in Florida, from Palm Coast all the way to Satellite Beach and beyond, we liked Ormond Beach the best. It has a terrific ambiance with a small upscale feel but with quality upscale shopping and restaurants. I don't get bored here, no matter how long we stay. We thoroughly enjoy our relaxing time here and are happy to share it with our long term vacation renters who've been coming for years. They love it too so we think we chose wisely.

It's easy to get here and to live here. Everything is close by and our parking spot in the garage is right next to the door. Super easy. Our balcony is terrific. It's big and is right on the beach, up high enough to have a long-view vista but close enough to watch the crabs running around. We have a dining table and chairs and our favorite place to eat is at home on our own balcony. And our beach itself is the best. No Cars!! We take our lawn chairs and umbrellas and we're good for the day. Plus we love the coquina sand, it makes the shoreline more beautiful and interesting with depression and tide pools, sometimes with creatures in them. Our pool is big, heated and I love to swim. We also love driving Tamoka Park and one of the top 100 scenic drives in the USA, "the Loop" which circles Tamoka Park and goes through spectacular marsh scenery. We also enjoy the local Art's scene and there is plenty of it here. We have a good view of shuttle launches and can easily drive to Jetty Park for an even closer look. My kitchen is great, it cooks easy with a surprising amount of counter space. And I can stand at the kitchen sink and look directly at the beach while I'm cooking. But best of all, we love our naps!! Open the windows, hear the ocean, feel the breeze and zzzzzzz, we're out. It doesn't get any better than that.
