This house is just one block to the beach. Santa Maria’s is one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Cruz with surfing, boogie boarding, skim boarding and great for long walks. Explore the tide pools to find sea anemones, sea urchins and watch the otters play. This location is close to the Boardwalk, Pleasure Point, and 41st Ave where you will find a variety of surf shops and restaurants.

The address of the house is 2150 Portola Drive. The house is in the Live Oak area! The back porch looks out at Corcoran Lagoon and to the beach at 21st Ave off of East Cliff Drive. The house is centrally located to all the attractions in Santa Cruz. Three miles away is the main attraction in Santa Cruz, the California Beach Boardwalk. The boardwalk has rides, events and attractions right on the beach. One mile away is Twin Lakes Beach. There you will find the Yacht Harbor, which offers beach volleyball, kayaks rentals and wonderful restaurants also on the beach. Two miles in the opposite direction is Capitola. Capitola is a quaint beach town, with many restaurants and boutique shops. Pleasure Point, which is a popular surf area and 41st Ave, which is filled with restaurants and surf shops, is 1 mile away. Santa Cruz is apart of the Monterrey Bay, which has endless possibilities for sight seeing. One of the most popular is the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey and Carmel.

We did not want to leave. This house was so amazing! Just as described. Beautiful in every room. Our young kids had a blast and so did us adults. The near by beach is so close and was amazing. We will be back for sure!

We spent a week at the beach house in April 2008 and loved every minute. Coming from upstate NY where we didn't yet have spring we loved seeing the sunshine and all the beautiful flowers. The house was very well equipped with all the necessities for a carefree vacation. I was pleased with the quality of the kitchen appliances and utensils, I must say usually at a rental house you get the 'camping' left overs - but not here, I felt like we were a treasured guest. The extras for us were the private decks (with great views), WiFi internet access and the gas BBQ grill. Not being right on the beach was great...it was not as winding or too cool and the short walk was great exercise. We spent some time in San Francisco, which isn't that far, and then drove Highway 1 north ... the scenic views were amazing. I took hundreds of pictures. Thank you for sharing your little corner of California with us.

Dear John and Lori,

We LOVED our stay in your charming, clean, very tastefully decorated vacation home. The house was more spacious than we anticipated, and all the Hawaiian decor made us feel immediately relaxed after a long day of travel. We loved the wide crown moldings, granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. Everything we needed was at our fingertips, the house was well stocked and the binder of local information was more thorough than any vacation home or hotel usually provides. The location of the house is perfect, a great ocean and lagoon view and short walk to an uncrowded beach. My 4 and 8 year old girls loved their full size bunk beds, kids' video/dvds, and boogie boards you provided. My youngest child said "I NEVER want to leave this house!" We did have to return home, but we'll definitely be back next year or sooner!
