Bridgton Cottage Rental Photos and Description
House - 2 Bedrooms + Loft - 1 Bath - (Sleeps 6)
Remodeled, clean, comfortable and cared-for--and not just another 'rental cabin', we know you'll enjoy this home as many others have. Wake up to the rising sun in this cheerful master bedroom and tell us if you agree: it's special!
With long driveway off the road, we're in a natural, wooded spot and our few neighbors don't feel close. Have fun on the 10-mile lake, shop, hike, ski, explore--or just plain relax here at Lake Haven. There are activities for all 4 seasons, including swimming off the dock or from our small sandy beach (our protected cove is out of the strong winds). Bring your small boat or use our canoe and rowboat provided at no extra cost. Two decks (one right over the water!) provide great places to have lunch, read a book and lose your cares.
Area attractions include many restaurants, the shops of quaint Bridgton village, country fairs, craft and antique shops, museums, movie theaters (including a drive-in!) and more shopping, amusements and attractions in nearby North Conway, NH.

About William Van Twisk
Anne & Bill live an hour and a half away in Brunswick and work here at the cottage as caretakers, painters, decorators and the maintenance crew! Yes, we're particular about keeping the place up. We enjoy spending time here during the 'quieter seasons' and the way living here is so calming and peaceful.
William Van Twisk purchased this cottage in 1998
Why William Van Twisk chose Bridgton
We bought this place after selling another that was only seasonal. It's wonderful to experience a vacation home in all of Maine's four seasons! With spring and fall hiking, winter sports nearby and fun on the lake in summer--and a quiet place to relax in between-- we have our major interests all covered here.
What makes this cottage unique
It's the COMPOSITION! It just works. With our forested 3 acres, our yard and simple gardens and our west shore looking East over the water. The sunrises and afternoon colors on the lake and opposite shore are just beautiful. Our location and site is just right as to accessibility and privacy, with just a few close neighbors and a long drive leading in shared with just one other home.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you Anne & Bill- We had a wonderful stay! You really have a lovely place. The boys really enjoyed sledding out front--hence the jumps. And it was so convenient to Shawnee (Shawnee Peak Ski Area) where we skied almost every day.
We were lucky to have one the snowstorms of the season and I had a great backcountry ski day. I'm sure we'll be in touch for future stays!
