Great Loft

  • of 5

We were very pleased and met our expectations. Location is great. Would rent this loft again if the need comes up again. Landlord was very accommodating.

Has gone downhill

  • 1 of 5

We have stayed here a handful of times over the course of 3 years. 45+ nights. We have even given a 5-star rating in the past for this exact property. And while the location is amazing and the property is nice, after the last time we will not be going back. The place was cleaned by the exiting tenant when we arrived, which I thought was very strange. The cleaning was sub-par (not as good as it had been on previous stays). The bed was not made (we had to make it) and all of the consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, etc.) were gone. We had to go on our first day and buy them all. The door to the laundry was off its track, smoke detectors without batteries were on the kitchen counter.

We called the owner and did not get a response for multiple days. Eventually the door got fixed but it took a while and we had to meet the repair person - not something that is fun while on a work trip / vacation. We never did get reimbursed for the consumables.

Sad to see poor management on a property that has such potential. I would look into other VRBO units within the same building because it is a great location and a beautiful building.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that you had a disappointing experience at our property back in April of 2014. Our goal is to utilize your feedback to improve the stay for future guests, so we appreciate timely feedback and the opportunity to discuss your satisfaction. We have reached out to address these concerns. Please do not hesitate to call us back to formally address your experience. Our standards are to have the bed dressed and the location spotless for each tenant staying. We will continue to utilize our professional services to avoid the situation that you experienced. We received your call to address the lack of consumables, and responded within 24 hours to replenish and accommodate your personal requests for a blender. It is our responsibility to have the loft stocked with essentials, but is not our duty to continue to supply your family through your extended stay of 30 days. I am always available by phone, and can provide solutions to not interrupt your vacation. We provide a lock box to transfer keys between tenants and contractors. This eliminates waiting for assistance, and can have repairs addressed in your absence. My repair man fixed the door within 3 days of me being notified. I do not give keys to the loft to anyone but people staying for security reasons. The monthly rate is $60 a day, which is a phenomenal price point for the location, and amenities offered. We are willing to have a conversation about the consumables you purchased and what you would like to be reimbursed, but we will be taking into consideration the condition of our loft after your stay. Sincerely, Brett
Colorado

Great Old Town Loft!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the weekend in this loft and had a great time. It is incredibly close to everything - we parked the car Friday and didn't move it until we left on Sunday. The loft is exactly as Brett describes and was clean, modern and comfortable. We definitely recommend staying here and Brett was great to work with!

Great little getaway in Old Town

  • 5 of 5

Brett's loft was a perfect two-night getaway for the two of us. He responded quickly to texts when needed and even extended our checkout time. Perfect location for experiencing the town on foot. I enjoyed the expansive view as well as the piano (not pictured in the current listing photos). A few of things to be aware of: the 4:08 a.m. train a block away makes its presence known! Also, if you plan to cook, you'll want to bring all staples and maybe even a bread knife, as the kitchen is minimally stocked. Plan to use your suitcase as your dresser/closet since space necessitates it. We would've used the two cruiser bikes if there'd been a locking bike lock available. Those things didn't bother us much, so we'll be back!

Nice space, managed poorly

  • 3 of 5

Location and view are great! Parking was a pain - there is a parking pass but space is limited. The kitchen was completely bare aside from cooking utensils, pots/pans and plates/cups, so if you plan to cook be sure and get everything else. Standard necessities were lacking, we had to go buy washcloths, a box of tissues, etc. Unlike other VRBO properties we've stayed in, this one was not "comfortable" with a lived-in feel. The owner wanted to meet face-to-face at check-in and then called a few times later in the week...to ask if we could arrange to be at the loft to let somebody in to drop off sheets and then again to ask if we could check-out early. All in all it was a fine property but we will not be returning.

Owner's Response: My loft was cleaned by a new person as my usual cleaning service was unavailable. They did not re-supply the loft to my standards. Sorry for your inconvenience. That being said let me address your issues. Parking can be tough, but typically only on weekend nights around dinner. I have never had a guest tell me they could not find a spot. The kitchen is stocked with all your basic cooking needs. Please be specific and tell me what items you are needing. Just to be clear, the sheets were dropped off as an extra set at your unit door. They were needed to be put in closet at your convenience is all. I called you the day before check out and asked when you were leaving. Check is not until noon, but sometimes when people leave earlier I like to get my cleaning service in the loft asap. I do not recall asking you to leave early. Sorry you will not be returning to the best value and location in Fort Collins.
