Inverness Vacation Rental cottage

It's always 'iffy' to rent from online resources without knowing the area, but this was one of the BEST decisions we've ever made in terms of vacation rentals. The location was ideal - a perfect distance from the north and south areas of Point Reyes National Seashore. The town of Inverness is so quaint and offers an amazing pizza/deli and convenient little market for the daily necessities. Both sit right on Tomales Bay so it's even enjoyable to wait in the car while the spouse runs in to grab a few things!

The cottage is completely up to date with the nicest amenities. Even the bathroom drawers were neatly lined with little washclothes. It offers all of the 'little things' you could ever need to have a home away from home - even a sturdy baby gate at the top of the steps! The downstairs bedroom is very large with AMAZINGLY comfy beds. The twin bed was perfect for my 6 year old and both the queen and twin beds had pillow topped mattresses and down comforters from Tommy Hilfiger. No expense spared here!

The upper deck has an amazing view of the gardens and the forest beyond. And did I mention how QUIET this location was? Perfect to sit and just 'be'. The hot tub is at the other end of the deck, behind the caretaker's house, but is enclosed in its own little hot tub 'room'. They even have shelves in the wall that house the towels and other hot tub essentials.

Downstairs is a laundry room filled with everything you'd need to do the laundry - full sized washer/dryer. The lower patio leads from the bedroom right to the laundry room which is very convenient.

The only drawback to some people would be the long flight of wooden stairs to get to the bedroom. People with disabilities or elderly people unable to walk up stairs would have a problem. Otherwise, it makes for a very quiet sleeping area.

This place is great. We were only there for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed two weeks. We'll definitely stay here again if we have a chance to go back to Point Reyes.
