About The Owner

My wife and I purschased this condo with my parents as we all love to visit Grand Lake. We thought this would be some place our children would always remember as a special place for spending time together. My mother and father own Whispering Pines, which is a gift store downtown. They come up more often for work.

Great place to stay in Grand Lake

5 of 5
Submitted: September 7, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
My family and I stayed here last week. The condo is clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It's also in a great location - walking distance to downtown Grand Lake and a short drive to Granby. I would stay here again. Our stay here made our trip so much better.

Beautiful Condo/Great Price

4 of 5
Submitted: August 28, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
The condo is just as beautiful as the picture. Seemed to be fairly new construction. It would be nice to have chairs outside on the patio but then again, it backs up to a very busy street (right across from the post office) and the noise level is rather high. We had to shut the door so we could hear the TV. Just around the corner from the post office are the stables and you do get quite a wiff of horse manure every once in a while. Owner advised us that the condo was within walking distance to the town. While it is within walking distance, it will be a rather long walk if you are coming back from shopping with several packages and there is no sidewalk. The walk is right along the busy street and you are walking on gravel. The description says "Mountain View." It is a view of the post office, not the mountains. Also want to let the owner know that the door from the kitchen to the patio area does not open. It unlocks but apparently there has been some damage to the threshold or the bottom of the door and it is stuck.
We would stay here again because it is very clean, beautiful, and the price is great!!

If you want to stay in a condo that looks and smells like it was just completed yesterday, then this is the place for you. It is beautifully furnished and everything looks brand new. The heading is radiant so there is no forced air or furnace noise...only nice warm floors. The kitchen has everything you will need except for the food. I would rent this place again in a heartbeat. It is conveniently located to everything in Grand Lake. I would definitely recommend the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater. The performances are the best west of Broadway. We also loved the boat tour of Grand Lake. Except for rolling an ATV off a mountain pass. the trip was perfect. I would only have one recommendation for the owner. I would provide a flat screen TV at least in the living room. If the potential renter is used to watching TV snuggled up in the bedroom, you'd better bring a laptop and some DVD's or have streaming capabilities. Other than that, the condo is absolutely top notch and worth every cent

Lovely Condo

This condo was perfect for us! It is beautiful, comfortable and so conveniently located. We golfed, played in Rocky Mountain National Park, played at the lake's beach and poked through town. This condo is less than five minutes to all the places we went. The bed's are very comfortable, which we all appreciated. You can't go wrong with this rental!

One week stay in July

5 of 5
Submitted: July 20, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
We were happy with this condo rental. The condo is newer compared to most other accommodations in Grand Lake which are mostly cabins, lodges, and motels. It is clean and has all of the amenities. We only cooked breakfast and lunch and did dinner in the very good restaurants in town. The location is good. This condo is not right in town. It is located on the opposite end of the main street from all of the shops and restaurants. I would say the walk is maybe a quarter to a half of a mile to the start of the main drag with another four blocks to the end of it. While we like to be right in the heart of things, we did not find the location as inconvenient in that we were only a two or three minute drive away. Our son actually walked home a couple of nights. The tradeoff for having a modern condo in exchange for being a little out of the way was worth it. In regard to the proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park and Trail Ridge Road, the Condo complex is right across the street from the road that leads to the park gate, maybe a mile or so away.

The condo had DirecTV including Showtime, which was nice. It would be advisable for the owner to install a flat screen TV in lieu of the tube. We would have also liked to have some patio furniture to enjoy the view and the cool evenings. Being a first floor condo, I suppose these things might walk away but I suspect the owner could figure something out. One evening we returned home after dark and a resident advised us not to walk toward the dumpster because a bear was hanging out there. My son and I thought it was cool. My wife didn't think it was so cool.

Grand Lake is a very lovely town. It is small and very laid back. During the summer afternoons, a lot of tourists are in town walking up and down the boardwalk and doing a little shopping and eating. By 10:00 at night, the main street is a ghost town. The only cars at that point are at the town’s only real saloon, The Lariat. The people who live in Grand Lake and the homes surrounding it are very loyal to the community and really enjoy its setting with panoramic mountains in the background and a beautiful lake in Grand Lake. The town also has a professional theatre called the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre. We saw all three summer productions which were outstanding with very talented young professional actors.

Like the previous poster, we didn't have much contact with the owner. We exchanged a couple of emails which was fine.
