Area Attractions:
Area activities abound including golf, shopping, Brainerd International Raceway (BIR), horseback riding, boating, fishing, bird watching, mini-golf, amusement parks, restaurants, night life, cross country skiing, hiking, and snowmobile trails.
Lake Information:
Whitefish, at 7,370 acres is the third largest lake in the Brainerd management area and is part of the 14,000 acre Whitefish chain of lakes. The maximum depth is 138 feet. There are numerous public access points on the lake. Across the street is Big trout lake, a 1342 acre lake located at the City of Manhattan Beach. It is part of the Whitefish chain of lakes. Maximum water depth is 128 feet and about 27% of the surface area is 15 feet deep of less. It is one of two lakes in the Brainerd management area managed for lake trout. Lake trout have been stocked regularly since 1979.
The Whitefish Chain of Lakes is abundant in many species including blue gills, walleye, pike, and bass.

With over 450 holes of golf within 30 miles of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes Area, the area was ranked one of the top golf destinations in the world by Golf Digest.

Courses range from family-friendly par-three courses up to the Arnold Palmer or Robert Trent Jones designer courses, so there is a course for all abilities and budgets.
