All I needed, and MORE
What a wonderful condo to stay in. We arrived after midnight, as we came from the west coast and lost many hours in travel. Rolando was accommodating to this, by leaving us a key and having someone come by the following day to check in on us and be sure we had everything we need.
The house was wonderful. It was very clean, and well stocked with towels, blankets, pillows, all we needed. There were six adults traveling and we were more than comfortable. I felt as though there would have been room for more. The kitchen was well stocked with seasonings, oils, pots, pans, coffee pot, etc. There was more than enough silverware, and dishes, and plenty of seating in the living and dining areas. We really enjoyed cooking dinners on the huge roof top patio in the sunset. It was a great way to end every day. The bedrooms all had air conditioning and there were plenty of fans around the condo and a great breeze coming off the ocean to keep it too hot in the main areas.
Aquatika has beautifully kept grounds. The pools were the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cool. We were only slightly disappointed that the water slide was only available on the weekends, but when we saw all the life guards it made much more sense. Also, during the week, we were easily the only people in the pool, the complex was appeared empty. The lazy river didn't really flow, but we did enjoy inflating the provided pool floaties and slowly paddling ourselves down it with a cool beverage. It was more like a very long pool. The private beach was gorgeous, the water is warm, and it is large enough to share with the few other people out there. The gates do get locked at 7pm.
This was the perfect oasis if you are looking to be outside of town, and enjoy time with friends or family. We had most our meals here, and were thankful for the large grocery store / Walmart being near by. In Loiza we didn't really go out much to eat, but we did really like the roadside food. This was a great location to get back and forth from San Juan or Fajardo. As it was pretty central between both.
We enjoyed hiking in the En Yunque National Forest, scuba and snorkeling from Fajardo, and touring the bacardi factory in San Juan.
