This a gated private property overlooking Fern Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary and the Coastal Mountain Range. Located just minutes from U of O campus, Downtown Eugene, and the Mahlon Sweet Airport. The property has gated access to miles of easy walking trails through the Sanctuary which is a very well known bird watching area. Also located 1.5 miles from the west eugene bike path, that completely crosses Eugene. The cottage is a very clean, private, tranquil place to stay on the game reserve. It consists of one large open space, with kitchen, queen bed and seating area.. Private bath with shower.. Included are line dried linens, coffee beans, homemade muffins, wide screen sattelite television and wireless internet.Step outside the front door and into a nice hot tub or a relaxing hand made Swedish Sauna.. Also a covered patio overlooking the mountains and Sanctuary to escape from the summer sun or Oregon rain . Nice place to sit and read a good book.. $100.00 per night. No pets please.

Upon first glance, we were delighted. We stayed two nights and things were fantastic.

The views were great and the sounds of birds passing by overhead were incredible.

The cottage is gorgeous inside and out with a sauna and hot tub right at your front door. Every effort was made to provide you with a unique and enjoyable experience.

The owners make sure you get more than you bargained for during your stay and make you feel right at home. We will return to enjoy this perfect get-away location.

Beautiful and relaxing

We just returned from our stay at this lovely cottage and I am ready to go back! It provided a nice, quiet and private place to stay and was very relaxing. The location was great and the owners were very hospitable. I highly recommend it!

Fresh air and only the sounds of the birds!

My wife and I stayed at Sweet Outback Cottage during a visit to Eugene, OR to visit our son and daughter-in-law. It provided a lovely and peaceful ending to a day of sightseeing and visiting. The quiet of the country night made for a wonderful and refreshing night's sleep. The owners were very friendly and helpful, providing us not only with a daily paper and directions to points of interest in the area, but also, on two occasions, fresh homemade breakfast breads. My wife and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Peace and quiet

We had a fabulous time! We felt an instant feeling of relaxation. I almost cried when we left. It was a bit farther from town then I had anticipated, but that proved to be delightful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars because the shower ran cold very very quickly (less than 5 minutes). Maybe a little note stating small water heater or something would be a good idea, because its really not that big of a deal if you know its going to happen. LOVED the sauna!

Owner's Response: Sorry! I should have told you that the water heater was only 15 gallons. We are in the process of enlarging the shower in ceramic tile , and have already installed a large waterheater. Thanks again!
