What to Do in Maggie Valley?:
Even though Maggie Valley is a quaint and charming town, it is also a growing area with many things to keep you occupied. In the town are restaurants, gem-mining, pottery shops, Wheels Through Time Museum, Ghost Town in the Sky amusement park, Soco Zoo and Queens Farm horseback riding stables, among others. Although the Hoot 'n Holler cabin is not a ski lodge/resort, we're near one! In winter, Cataloochee Ski Lodge offers respectable skiing and just off U.S. 19 is the fun-filled Tube World tubing range. Maggie Valley is also an ideal place for bikers to bring their Harley's and tour the area. To the west is Cherokee with Harrah's Casino, the Cherokee Indian Reservation and of course all their beautiful handmade wares. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 2 minutes from the Hoot 'N Holler and has many exits to explore including Waterrock Knob, Clingman's Dome, and numerous waterfalls. We have a wonderful Visitor's Guide at the Hoot with lots of interesting things for you to see and do!
What Else To Do?:
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park all year in 2009! Maggie Valley is just a short drive to the doorway of the party! If you feel like venturing outside of the area, take I-40 east and there is Asheville, home of the Biltmore Estate and Gardens, winery tours, and of course SHOPPING! Enjoy white water rafting in our rivers or tubing! Springtime in the Smokies is a glorious time with buds and blooms bursting out all over, and corvette afficianados will appreciate Vettes in the Valley every spring. During autumn, most of the surrounding towns have a celebration of Fall of some sort. Craft shows, apple festivals, street dances and the like are prevalent in Waynesville which is just around the corner from Maggie. Historic Hendersonville is about 30 minutes away and is yet another don't-miss area to see. To view the elk at Cataloochee Valley is about an hour's drive. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood are a little over an hour away.
Satisfaction Guaranteed!:
We have had the privilege of renting our home to many, many happy and satisfied folks since 2001. We specialize in customer satisfaction, and our support team consisting of Housekeeping, Maintenance and the local area business people help us to look good! We have found that some weeks and/or choice weekends do tend to fill up quickly, and we have several repeat renters who reserve their time about a year in advance. If you have desired dates in mind, please call or email to set up your reservation to avoid disappointment.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: In October of 2009 a rock slide occurred on I-40 near the Tennessee/North Carolina state line. For drivers traveling to NC from Tennessee, you may be affected by road closures on I-40. Please see the Dept of Tourism website at Visitnc.com for complete details and alternate routes if this affects you. However, western North Carolina is 'open for business' and we are ready to serve you.
