This new house (Built in 2003) is located in one of the last high-altitude rain forests in the U.S. centrally located, near the village of Volcano (altitude approx. 3600 ft) four miles from the entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in the heart of the Big Island of Hawaii, just 30 minutes from Hilo on the East side and 2 hours from the Kona Coast on the west side, 2.5 hours from Waimea to the north. This house is comprised of a downstairs bedroom with queen size bed, spacious living room with cathedral ceiling and full sized convertible sofa, complete kitchen and a tiled bathroom with a luxurious spa-size tub with private views into the forest. There is a roomy loft with a full size bed. Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes looming above the treetops can be viewed from this room. The loft is accessed from the living room by way of a securely fastened ships ladder. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for your meal preparation.

Additional information about rental rates

  • $145/night per couple $700.00 for 6 nights
    An additional $15/night will be charged for each additional person.
    Hawaii State Accommodation Tax 11.416% will be added to All Rates.
    Special rates are available for longer stays.
    Cleaning fee is $75.00
    Security Deposit $500.00
    Add $10.00 per night for access to the washer and dryer.
  • PAYMENT: ½ of the total bill for your stay is due 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival and the other ½ is due 30 days prior to your arrival date.

    DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT: A damage/reservation deposit of $500 is required. This must be received within 2 days of booking the reservation. This will be returned to you within 2 weeks of your departure, As long as the premise is left as you found it and ready for sanitizing.

    CANCELLATIONS: A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date are subject to a 5% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay or that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment unless we are able to rent it to another guest. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent. Your $500.00 damage/security deposit will be returned to you. You may choose to purchase tr

Further details for this vacation house rental in Volcano, Hawaii

This property in very private. You can not see any neighbors. Yet it is close to town. Its location is right off of highway 11 in a very dense tropical rain forest. There is an orchid growing warehouse just down the street called Akatsuka Orchid Gardens it's a very beautiful place to visit. Just up the road is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park where you can view the steam vents and there are lava tubes both in the park and down closer to Hilo which are all part of the same series of tubes carved out 500-700 years ago. At Richardson Bay 30 minutes from the house is some of the best snorkeling on the islands. There are a lot more things to do and see, there are water falls, botanical gardens, lava flows into the ocean (when active) and great restaurants. I can provide you with more info on all that and much more when you book your stay with us. As an added bonus there are no mosquitoes in this area because of it's a cooler climate.

Mahalo nui for sharing your magnificent and inviting paradise with us!
We found immediate comfort and relaxation when we arrived at the Kileaua Rainforest Retreat. The amenities and beautifully designed layout of the house were great and allowed us to completely soak in the entrancing scenery through the large picture-like windows throughout the entire house.
The location is great, located just outside of Volcano & yet it is surrounded by rainforest :-D Our stay was full of adventures & explorations to the breathtaking views of South Point and the Green Sands, to the fabulous tide pools of Kapoho. (Thanks for the map & recommendation Tracy it was incredible snorkling) and the mesmerizing dance as we watched lava flows enter the the ocean at night. Needless to say our stay here has been perfect and we send a big mahalo to you both. Thank you so much Tracy & Annie!!! ~ Allen & Lanell

A Few Days Near Heaven

As we sit on the lanai, enjoying our last cup of coffee, and the precious morning sunlight before packing the last few things to leave, we are grateful for having spent three peaceful and restful days in this rainforest sanctuary. The solitude here has been just what we needed, after a six week period of difficulty and grief following our daughter's sudden passing. The accommodations are outstanding, the location is wonderful, and the quiet has allowed us to sleep restfully every night. A few Pina Colada's in the blender, outings to the park and Hilo, cozy evenings under a fleecy throw with T.V. or a good book-just what we needed! We had hoped for the weather to be a bit better, but no matter, we head for warmer climes now. Thank you for three days of peace, rest, comfort and quiet. It has been nourishing.
