Photos and Description of the Sayulita vacation house rental
House, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Specifically designed for a casually laid-back and relaxing stay, even a really long one, Casa Amarilla reflects the owner's belief that quality is always a good investment! Canadian designed, and built to that standard, though constructed and managed by some of the best local artisans, no effort, or expense, has been spared to ensure your security and enjoyment. This compound is a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and completely surrounded by a 2 meter wall and each unit has a safe for valuables; providing a quiet, serene and secure setting. There is off street, covered parking for 2 and in-compound, locked parking for 1 more.

Whether you want to tan in a lounger by the pool, nap in a hammock, enjoy a cerveza or two either under the palapa or at the bar by the pool, dance under the stars or entertain friends, new or old, these homes offer the flexibility to do it all and more in style. Or, since the 3 separate air-conditioned get-away's are in the same compound, you may elect to book it in its entirety for larger parties.

Our open concept allows the breezes to waft through while the large windows admit an abundance of light. The kitchens are fully equipped to allow you to create anything you wish... blenders, coffee makers, pots and pans,(margarita glasses), bar fridges and full fridges, full stoves with oven and toaster ovens. If we could think of a need, we provided for it!

Featuring professionally designed gardens, soft colours, wonderful rock walls, tiled courtyards, and the splashing of the pool to soothe the senses, we are certain your stay here to be one you'll remember as long as it takes to come again.

Casa Amarilla is a magically perfect place for a couple, a small family, or even a larger party to comfortably enjoy the wonderful village of Sayulita. We have two apartment style casitas available for rent as well, contact us for details on renting the whole complex!!

We look forward to welcoming you to our casitas and hearing of your enjoyment there!

About The Owner

Our family first heard about Sayulita from our (then) 19 year old son who'd spent several months in 1996 surfing with a bunch of his high school buddies. He regaled us with tales of Paradise, of friendly people, unspoiled charm, and SURFING! I somewhat reluctantly headed off with his Mom and 2 younger siblings to 'no-one knew' that next Christmas and was smitten inside of 3 hours.

Over the next 1/2 dozen or so years and at least 10 visits we became ever more convinced that this really was a place we could retire to and call home, have our grand-kids visit and build fond memories of. Finally we bought first one, then another, piece of property and began to formulate plans for the construction of (what?)and with whom? Ideas came and went, changed and changed again, When we thought we had it right and were ready to start, we found out we were really beginning another stage in the evolution of what we now have...and we see more change yet. Such are the ways of dreams!

What we never changed was our focus on quality and our belief that built well is built best. We are so very proud of what have, owe so much to those who did our work and added to our dream. We always enjoy hearing from our past guests and how much they enjoyed their stay. We welcome you to stay with us and see what a part of our dream looks and feels like.

Pura Vida,

Doug and Sheran

The Owner purchased this house in 2008
Why The Owner chose Sayulita

Well, we really didn't buy...we built. It seemed more rewarding to us to design, build, change and evolve our way into something uniquely ours. What you'll see here is a blend of what we wanted and what we learned how to do all folded into and around one of the nicest little villages either of us has ever been to. It's privacy, location and amenities are uniquely appealing...whether it's surfing, fishing, snorkeling sampling some FIRST CLASS dining, collapsing at the side of the pool with a cerveza or curling up with a book, it can all be done and enjoyed from here. I've never been to a place I like being more. That's why!

What makes this house unique

We're about a 7-10 minute walk to the town square...close enough for easy access, far enough away for privacy. Our property is self-sufficient, laundry, grounds and house staff, garden areas, pool, 3 palapas to relax under, satellite TV and internet. If you want it, it's either there or close by! Maybe the neatest, and most under-used asset is a hidden beach you can't get to from the main town/beach area, Carrecitos...guaranteed quiet.

Wonderful

5 of 5
Submitted: March 25, 2013 Stayed: March 2013
We just returned from two weeks in Sayulita. Casa Amarilla was such a wonderful place to stay.
The roof top patio/palapa was even better than the pictures, a great place for a margarita and a
meal. The plantings and landscaping were really well done. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Doug was so prompt in answering any questions we had before our arrival and one or two during our stay.
Would we go back? In a heart beat.

a beautiful winter escape

5 of 5
Submitted: January 26, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
A very relaxing and enjoyable winter escape from Canada was found for a family of three in Sayulita. Each day greeted us with warm sunny weather, delicious food prepared by friendly Mexicans and endless surfing for our teenage daughter. We loved staying at the Casita Amarilla …the highlights were the clean Casa’s, the beautiful grounds where we read underneath the rooftop palapa or lounged by the pool and the visits with the owners Doug and Sheran King. Their hospitality was outstanding including an incredible Christmas dinner. We very much enjoyed our 2 week retreat to Sayulita and highly recommend staying at the Casita Amarilla.

Three weeks in Sayulita paradise

5 of 5
Submitted: January 7, 2013 Stayed: November 2012
My husband and I stayed in the lower casita for three weeks, and we still were not ready to go home. The property is fantastic for any length of stay. The casitas have all the amenities needed to be comfortable for any length of time, and since we were there three weeks, we used the laundry, we cooked meals, we had friends visit for an afternoon by the pool, and we truly felt at home. The internet is top notch, as I had to work some each day so that was important. We had the pleasure of Doug and Sheran's (owners) company during part of the stay, very enjoyable to spend some time enjoying margaritas with, and the folks that help maintain the property are wonderful, so helpful and keep the property immaculate. The way the property is designed, you can find your private space if you like, or hang out with others around the pool, we met so many great people during our stay as the other casita was occuppied by different couples through our stay. Sayulita itself is a dream vacation spot, and less than a ten minute walk puts you in the heart of town and the beach is just a couple blocks further. There is plenty to do in Sayulita, as well as some great little towns and beaches to go explore. Surfing, boogie boarding and paddle boarding are a must. We highly recommend Stand Up Paddle for lessons/rentals, the crew is super, and they have a great bar in back of the shop for the evenings. Mangiafuoco, the Italian restaurant just down the hill from the property has the best pizza and fresh handmade pasta, it's like being in Italy, for when you finally grow tired of all the great tacos found at the various little taco shops on the street. Los Afortunadas is another great dining place for a nice meal, beautiful garden setting and the best pork chop my husband ever had. Hopping the bus, getting a taxi or even renting a car for the day is easy to do in town, if you want to spend a day in Puerto Vallarta or elsewhere. There are so many activities, great people, great restuarants, there isn't enough space to list them all, but you won't be sorry taking a Sayulita vacation and staying at Casitas Amarilla.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind review. We're happy that you enjoyed your stay and had a good time. Sayulita is indeed a wonderful holiday spot, a very special place! Each time we come back, we try to make it a bit better, as we feel that 'coming home' is just as important when you are on holidays. If you should ever find your way back, we'd be pleased to be your hosts once more.

The Very Best

Casa Amarilla or casitas I have stayed at both. Don't make the mistake of going anywhere else. My husband and almost 2 year old stayed 3 years ago and it was amazing, beyond amazing. This year we returned and stayed in a casita, equally fabulous. Doug and Sheran do not miss anything, they go beyond your greatest expectations. The beautiful grounds, the palapas, the pool, the hammocks, the washer and dryer, the refridgerators on all levels! music, wireless, TV with Satelite and tons of channels, Endless towels, and great beds! (huge!) So comfy. The beautiful bathroom and insane shower, kitchen that has it all and more and so amazingly clean and beautiful. The most wonderful staff, like family. We will never go anywhere else. Thank you Thank you!
Our daughter now 5 and a half slept great on the couch and in the huge bed with us, plenty of room. We made the mistake of thinking we needed to find a "two bedroom" and Doug and Sheran rescued us and got us in with a moments notice to PARADISE!

We have now stayed at this casita twice...clearly we love it! Doug and Sheran are wonderful and helpful, and the house is beautiful, well maintained, and very tranquil. It is a short walk from the town center and beach, and is an excellent location. Sayulita is an incredible place to visit, and we highly recommend staying here!

Owner's Response: It's really cool to hear from people who get what we did! This is our DREAM realized! Like most dreams people have, we pushed ours right out there, and then, somehow, we got it. That you validate it...
