Breckenridge House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 11-13)

Our Breckenridge Home is a fabulous year-round retreat with a large open floor plan and breathtaking views of the ski mountain.

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE RENTAL WITH TYPICAL CHEAP, MOUNTAIN-THEMED AMENITIES! From the furnishings to the linens to the kitchen appliances, the decor of our home is upscale, contemporary, and most importantly, comfortable. This is the perfect home for 2 - 3 families with children, 2 – 4 couples, or a group of friends looking for the perfect mountain vacation.

Whether you are coming to enjoy Breckenridge for skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, or to sample one of our local cultural festivals, the location of this home is ideal. We are minutes away from the ski-mountain gondola, main street Breckenridge, the Blue River, and the only Jack Nicklaus-designed municipal golf course in the country.

*** Our home also features a wonderfully situated and beautiful (and clean!) hot tub which stares right at the Breck mountain range. Sit and enjoy the view while you soak out the kinks! ***

The house has two stories, with the main living area upstairs. The open floor plan includes a GOURMET KITCHEN with stainless appliances and an island that seats two adjacent to a large dining area with seating for ten. The family room has a huge, vaulted ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide unreal mountain range views, a gas fireplace with built-in bookshelves, a large micro-suede sectional sofa that seats 7-8 with a leather ottoman, and a media center with a 60-inch LCD HDTV and Sonos wireless control from your Apple or Android device. The master suite with jetted tub and the queen bedroom with full bath are also upstairs.

Downstairs has a large informal living room with two large leather sofas, a 50' flat screen HDTV with its own cable control and separate DVR. There is also a warm, cozy wood-burning stove in this living area. It is the perfect place for kids to watch movies or play games, or for adults to sneak away with coffee and a book. There are windows across the entire downstairs living area that allow additional fantastic views of Breckenridge. (And, for the executive that can’t fully unplug there is an office area with WIRELESS INTERNET and even a PRINTER/SCANNER!)

Downstairs, there is one bedroom with a king bed, and another large bedroom with two extra-long twin beds (which can convert to a King) as well as a bunk set (room sleeps 4 comfortably). Both bedrooms share a full bath downstairs. The home has huge, expansive decks both upstairs and down that offer spectacular views of the mountains.

The things that make our home truly special are the ideal, livable floor plan, the comfortable, upscale décor, the convenient and accessible location, and the amazing, UNPARALLELED VIEWS of the mountains. We invite you to come and experience what we feel is mountain living at its finest! Call or email us with specific questions or for more photos.

To Recap, here are the bed/bedroom arrangements:

BR #1 (upstairs): King Bed (master suite w/private full bath; bed is premium TempurPedic brand) - sleeps 2

BR #2 (upstairs): Extra Long Single Bunk over Double Bed (w/adjacent full bath) - sleeps 3

BR #3 (downstairs): King Bed (w/adjacent shared full bath) - sleeps 2

BR #4 (downstairs): Extra Long Twins converts to King Bed (w/adjacent shared full bath) plus Bunk Beds - room sleeps 4

(Be aware: there is one negative to our home – you’ll never want to leave!)

Here is a recent guest comment (see other guest comments by clicking on link below!):

We could not have picked a more perfect home to accommodate the needs of our entire family – we loved it, the kids loved it – we couldn’t believe that we found a home as nice and as comfortable as our own with THOSE VIEWS!!! (The Caldwells, Hickory, NC)

About The Owner

Julie and I (and our dogs Lyza and Jake) are both originally from North Carolina and moved to Colorado a couple of years ago. We're both busy professionals but love all that Colorado has to offer (so do Lyza and Jake). We love everything outdoors and particularly enjoy snowsports (Julie enjoys skiing and snowshoeing while I ski, snowboard, nordic, snowshoe, backcountry ski - pretty much everything...). Kevin's favorite sport (and most recent sporting addition) is kiteboarding, including snow-kiting during the winters on snow covered Lake Dillon which is 10 minutes from our Breck home. Kevin also really enjoys fly-fishing for trout and floating Colorado's rivers and running whitewater. So, you can see why we love our home in Breckenridge.

UPDATE: We now have a son - Jackson - who is 5 yrs old. He has been skiing since he was 2 and the '14/'15 season will be his 4th on skis (Julie tells me that he can't snowboard off the garage roof like I've done for at least a couple of years...)

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Breckenridge

We bought this home because of its location in the middle of Summit County which has every possible outdoor mountain activity within steps or a close drive. However, we had to have tremendous views but yet also be close to the ski slopes, great restaurants, and other conveniences like grocery stores, liquor store, workout facilities. This is absolutely THE HOME for that. Many homes in the area have great views but yet are far away from town (even 5 miles out of town can be a huge hassle during peak weekends with lots of congestion). Other homes are truly ski-in, ski-out, but they have no views, are very cold because they don't get light, and are really unappealing except during ski season. This is our dream home and we've enjoyed creating incredible dreams for our family, friends, and guests who have enjoyed the home.

What makes this house unique

Interestingly, we never intended to rent our home. However, when Julie got pregnant in late 2008 and found out that she wouldn't be able to ski during the 2008/2009 season, we decided that we'd rent the home (Julie couldn't stand to think of even being at the home and looking out at those ski slopes and not be able to ski them!!!). We had furnished the home as a true home and just as beautifully as we had furnished our Denver home - again, this is a 2nd home and wasn't originally expected to be offered for rental. So that's an important distinction - so many homes (and trust me, we've seen them...) are furnished as rentals first - this is a big difference and you can see it in the style of the home. We also are continually updating our home in terms of the smaller, but important, amenities such as audio-visual, etc. With all that being said, our home is generally priced to be very competitive with all homes (even those that we would never even consider staying at).

In addition to the furnishing of the home and the views and incredible location, the other thing that you'll get from us is a 'personal touch'. We've rented direct from owners ourselves and have had some great experiences and some others that weren't so great - we get it. We want those that rent our home to truly feel as if they are our personal guests - they are. From our responsiveness to the inquiries we receive, to the questions we ask about what you're looking for in a home and about your group, to answering questions prior to your arrival and helping to give you a 'leg up' on planning certain aspects of your trip, we always want to treat our guests like we ourselves would like to be treated. Its just what we do and how we are! Thanks for having an interest in our very special home! Kevin & Julie

Guestbook comments from the owner

This wonderful home made us feel like at home! Thank you so much for setting up many activities around the house - that made us feel more welcomed! And the view...couldn't ask for anything more! Loved the house!

Thank you so much!

August 09 Rental

Wow what a wonderful home to stay in on our Breckenridge get-away this summer. There was so much room for our family of 5 and we could easily have asked friends to join us since there is so much space. The home is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Everything we needed was there and more. Kevin and Julie were so helpful and quick to respond to several questions during our visit. Thanks for the great accomodations and we look forward to a return visit next year.

This fantastic home fit the needs of our two families perfectly! We had a total of 6 children ranging in ages from 4-16 and 4 adults. The home has amazing views and is very well appointed and we had everything we needed to cook Christmas dinner. The hot tub was a big plus and have two separate lounging areas (one upstairs and one downstairs) provided the kids with their own space. The home is just minutes away from the slopes, but with a vehicle it was no problem to easily get there. Our only regret is that the season did not permit the use of the horseshoe pit. I guess we will have to return in the summer! Kevin was super-helpful and responsive and I give the experience an A+!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you guys had such a great time and that the home was everything - and more - than you expected. Sorry you couldn't enjoy the competition horseshoe pit out back - given that it had 3'+ of snow on top of it!!!! Maybe one day you can return again during the summer - our personal favorite time of year - to see that view behind the home and throw some shoes!!! Best, Kevin & Julie

Paradise found...

Our family just got home from an exceedingly wonderful stay at this home in Breck, and we are already looking into our next stay here. For our family, this is exactly the kind of place we seek - super functional, comfortable, cozy, convenient, with a quintessentially rocky mountain feel. Lots of space and a great layout made it fun for the kids and perfect for the adults. We had Thanksgiving here so like all holidays around food and drink and family - we needed a place that was inviting and open, and super functional. Space is huge for us - everything from a nice open driveway for unloading and other guests to park in, no less to play in, to a great kitchen layout that opens up to dining and family area, as well as to the deck and back mud room and back access, to bedrooms, which are really well spaced apart and comfortable. All of this was awesome when everyone's scrambling with their home made dishes and drinks, ski plans and outdoor activities, to naps and movies to whatever we were all doing for 4 days in a row! The views are truly fantastic, great to wake up too and say goodnight too, and the sunsets especially are just exceptional - we found ourselves specifically planning our day and early evenings around the sunset from the top deck because it was just THAT good. As an aside - the house instructions and general information the home owners provided were spot-on - whether it was info about the hot tub (which was great) or transportation (the purple route for FreeRide was super easy), or to navigate the tv's and sound systems - it was just very clear - we didn't need to contact the owner for any questions. I was actually surprised I hadn't been to this little neighborhood in Breck before b/c it's so close to town and the mountain, but is also is removed from the crowds and parking hassles and again, has the epic views.

Great Spot - Location, Views, Amenities

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for 13 nights in July to host visits from relatives and friends. It is a great house for entertaining or just relaxing and enjoying the Breckenridge area. It's very close to town, but still away from the crowds. Well equipped and comfortable, as testifed by other reviewers. We brought our labrador retriever with us from Chicago, and it was great that the upstairs deck is completely enclosed so she couldn't wander off. Kevin, the owner was great to work with and very responsive to our questions. We hope to return.

Great home for a reunion

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our reunion of 10 friends who live in multiple states - close to the shops, restaurants and spas of Breckenridge, close to great hiking and outdoor activities, and has a large, well-stocked kitchen and multiple gathering spaces for large and more private conversations. The house was exactly as advertised, with no surprises! The owners provided detailed instructions and were quick to respond to questions. We would definitely rent this house again for a large group.

Fabulous Family Reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed your place. The horse-shoe pit was well utilized, the upper deck had multiple poker games that extended into the wee hours of the morning, and the drive-way was a perfect ladder-ball court. The house accommodated 3 families well.

We hope to use it again in the future.

Owner's Response: Brad: We're so happy that you had a great time! Its funny - sometimes I think that's I'm the only one who hosts all-out horseshoe tourneys and late night poker games at the house - I'm glad that's not the case! Now, I just have to figure out what ladder-ball is...and I thought I knew and did everything possible at our home in Breck! So glad you had a great time and we hope to see you again one of these days! Kevin (& Julie)
