Pine Rock Cabin
Review Submitted: August 2, 2009
Date of Stay: July 2009
My husband and I stayed for 3 weeks during the month of July. The weather was spectacular and we played golf 2-3 times a week. The local golf course is just one block away. Our greatest joy was sitting on the back deck and watching the squirrels, chipmunks, blue jays and woodpeckers feed. We bought animal feed at the local feed store on Big Bear Blvd.
The cabin is well maintained and stocked so we didn’t have to bring anything but our clothes and toiletries. The beds have electric blankets with dual controls. The klitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and dishes, even paper towels. The local Vons and Stater Bros. are very convenient at just a mile away down Moonridge drive. So dining in is a real treat.
The cabin comes equipped with an outdoor gas grill and the propane tanks are full. It also has free wireless internet service so we could stay in touch with friends and family as well as keep up on any breaking news. The cabin also has 3 TVs with expanded basic Charter cable.
When not eating in, our favorite restaurants are, Thelmas for breakfast and lunch, Pongs for great sushi and Chinese food, and Sweet Basil for trendy light Italian food. The prices for all 3 restaurants are very reasonable.
The lake and Big Bear Village is about 5 miles away and easy to get to down Big Bear Blvd. There is a a swim beach, boat rentals and plenty of good fishing. The Village has two movie theaters with current films and plenty of walking for shopping, eating and exercise. The ice cream is a real summertime treat.
We have already rented the cabin for next July and look forward to another pleasant time in Big Bear thanks to this wonderful Cabin and the thoughtfulness of its owners.
