INCREDIBLE VIEWS OF THE OCEAN AND THE QUIET OF COUNTRY LIVING

This property is beautiful as stated. It is quiet, has a great view and both houses are very nice and well equipped. At this point, the good stops. The owner is rude and you will not likely get your deposit back even if you don’t touch anything ! The property manager went through the house with us upon arrival pointing out all the things we couldn’t touch or use. She warned us to not turn the refrigerator temperature down. The temperature in the frig mostly stayed at 50 degrees. Obviously, not cold enough to store the steak, chicken and fish we planned to cook for the week. If we had not had rented both house thus having access to the guest house frig, we would have lost several hundred dollars worth of meat or even worse, become ill. With all the warnings we received, we were not warned about the wasp hive by the pump house. Two of our children were traumatized with stings as they headed to the volleyball court one morning. The pool is frigid to the point of being uncomfortable. If you opt to pay to use the hot tub, the property manager comes over and stays as you use it. That rather spoils the moment ! The dishwasher in the guest house did not work. We were accused of leaving bath towels in the wrong houses. Totally untrue. No one took their towels out of their bathrooms. We were told that we left the place incredibly dirty with carpet stains everywhere. Also untrue. We actually went to great lengths to carry all the garbage and recycling out to the outdoor cans. The two houses together are listed as having a total of 6 bedrooms (12 occupants) plus futons for extra beds (extra occupants). We had a total of 10 people using beds and took our own pack-n-play for the little one. The owner is taking $__ out of our deposit because he said we told him there were 10 people. This was true. However, the 11th person was a toddler who did not use a bed. He threatened to take legal action because we accepted a package from UPS that he had delivered to himself at the house. As wonderful as this property is, I would not recommend renting anything this vacation property owner again.
This home was an absolutely wonderful place to spend a week relaxing, sight seeing and enjoying the spectacular view. Couldn't have found a more perfect spot. Quiet, private, secluded, and just plain wonderful.
With Dan's help, we found some wonderful out of the way places to eat great BBQ and pokie. Stopped at roadside fruit stands and took advantage of fresh fruit daily. Toured the whole island, went deep sea fishing, visited the Volcano National Park, and so much more. But always came home to our very relaxing and beautiful home.
Thank you Dan for sharing your home. We had a great time. Our grandson Konnor, as well as the rest of us, can't wait until we return.
The guest house is beautifully appointed with a full kitchen and views of the Pacific Ocean from most rooms. Dan has all the bells and whistles for you with TV programs and music options. He and his team take cleanliness seriously, which was another great asset. There are gorgeous floors and ceiling fans everywhere. He has built a porch/deck the length of the house to have views of the water constantly. We had breakfast or lunch out on the porch and cocktails to watch the sunset. The sunsets were the most beautiful ever, with the sun setting over a point. We took pictures nightly of the sunsets.
If you are a water person, you will love this house and the location. ....If you want privacy and independence much different from a hotel experience, then this large 5 acre property is for you. The owner is very accommodating and helpful with whatever requests you may have for an enjoyable stay. Whether there are two in your party or twelve, this is the property for your group. The house is so centrally located we visited different local beaches daily to snorkel. There is a hike down to the Captain Cook monument and then you are rewarded with snorkeling beautiful reefs. Just bring lots of water for the hike back up the mountain. With a short 5 minute walk you have access to a large bay. This is such a popular area, there are daily trips via kayaks, and many boats have daily outings to Captain Cooks monument to snorkel the reef. We ended each day with a dip in the pool overlooking the Bay.
The morning we had to leave, we even walked down to the water to take our last swim in the Pacific. We will definitely go back to this beautiful home for another vacation.
There is not much I can add to all the other reviews - the views, the cleanliness and comfort were amazing! One thing I wanted to point out is that this area and property was perfect for visiting with a child. The convenience of a pool in the yard (instead of somewhere else in a huge resort) meant we could enjoy a dip without packing provisions or after showering off from the beach. Also the sand volleyball court was a great 'sandbox' for a kid who just didn't get enough play time at the beach earlier in the day. Finally, the nearby beach park (manini?) is small but very fun for kids. Our son met lots of other kids and they all enjoyed playing in the shallow waves and the sand.
We'd love to spend more time here in the future!
This place has a panoramic view of the Captain Cook Bay.
The property is private, safe, secluded and gorgeous.
The owner was very helpful regarding where to eat, snorkel and sightsee.
The house was super clean and very comfortable.
Everything was well appointed and well thought out.
We would highly recommend coming here!
Don't pass this up!
SEVEN DAYS IN PARADISE WITH ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWS IN HAWAII LOOKING OUT IN TO THE BLUE BLUE PACIFIC WITH CAPTAIN COOK'S MONUMENT ACROSS THE LAGOON. THE HOUSE IS BEAUTIFUL WITH EVERYTHING ONE NEEDS TO HAVE A WONDERFUL VACATION FROM THE INFINITY POOL LOOKING OUT TO SEA TO THE BEAUTIFUL SONG BIRDS VISITING EACH DAY. IT BECAME A GAME TO WAIT FOR THE BIRDS TO ARRIVE TO GET THEIR PHOTOS TAKEN EACH DAY. LOVE THE LUSH FOILAGE IN THIS AREA AND MAKE SURE IF YOU COME TO VISIT THE KONA COFFEE AND FRUIT COOPERATIVE. THE WALK THROUGH THE ORCHARDS (FREE) WAS WONDERFUL AND WE SAW SOME REALLY DIFFERENT EXOTIC FRUITS AND GOT TO SAMPLE SOME. IF YOU WANT A GOOD CHEAP DINNER L AND L CAN BE THE ANSWER. THE SALMON THERE IS AFFORDABLE AND DELICIOUS. TAKE A FISHING CHARTER WITH CAPTAIN BOB SYLVE FOR HALF A DAY (ALSO VERY AFFORDABLE) AND YOU MIGHT HAVE DINNER FOR HALF THE WEEK. WE DID AND LEARNED TO LOVE THE ONO. GREAT PLACES TO SNORKEL AND THE DRIVE TO THE REAL SOUTHER MOST POINT INTHE 50 US STATE NOT KEY WEST IS FUN. LUNCH AT SPASHERS IN TOWN IS A TREAT AND IF YOU ARE TRULY LUCKY YOU MIGHT HIT THE ONE DAY A MONTH WHERE THE WONDERFUL CRAFT FAIR IS HELD. WE DID AND IT WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL. DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT BRINGING ANYTHING BUT YOUR CLOTHES AND PLASTIC/WALLET AS DAN HAS PROVIDED GOOD QUALITY BEACH EQUIPMENT AND THE HOUSE IS TOP RATE IN ALL WAYS. WOULD LOVE TO RETURN SOMEDAY WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY.
