As you wind your way up the Ter Valley west of Girona, the foothills of the Pyrénées begin to take form. Just beyond the market town of Angles, a small road twists and turns before it appears to end at the secluded Can Angeles. In fact the road continues, as little more than a track under a shady canopy of trees, to a couple of small villages a short distance away. Once a day, the local farmer might venture by in his car - otherwise, the house is wonderfully private, with long views down a green valley to the west. Can Angeles is a casual country home, ideal for families with children of all ages. There's an easy flow from the double-width living room out to the terraces and pool area. And when you have had enough of the sun, you can retreat to the mirador, a covered sitting area on the second floor that catches the passing breeze and is a great vantage point for the superb views over the surrounding landscape. This is a perfect base for discovering Catalunya.

Outdoor Activities: Excellent walking on trails and quiet roads; golf at Girona and Torre Mirona, with superb spa, both 18-hole/par 72 courses; Costa Brava beaches, water sports, snorkeling and diving; excellent cycling on dedicated routes and off-road biking; hiking and horseback riding, including in the Pyrénées foothills and Garrotxa nature reserve.
