The Dominican people are some of the friendliest and happiest people in the world. Unlike some destinations they welcome tourists and go out of their way to ensure a great vacation. With maid service provided everyday (except Sunday) you can relax and unwind in the pool, walk in solitary splendor on our beautiful unspoiled beach or read a book under a palm tree. Our housekeeper's name is Mari and she is a delightful woman with a great sense of humour, Mari keeps the villa sparkling at all times. Mari will arrange for you to buy fresh fish or lobster (from her family across the road, they will catch it that morning) if you so desire.
Cosme is our gardener/pool person and he works Monday thru Friday, though you will often see him on a Saturday morning cleaning the pool and washing down the flagstone terrace. We have security 7 nights a week, There is a back up generator on site to ensure there is always power, any of the staff know how to operate it.
There is also a lovely lady nearby that is available for beach side massages, or manicures and pedicures by the pool.

Golfers are well catered for, with the Playa Dorada Robert Trent Jones course being 50 minutes drive to the est and 'The Pebble Beach of the Caribbean' the oceanfront course at Playa Grande, being 30 minutes to the east.
Surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing are the specialty in Cabarete. It is one of the top ten best places in the world for these sports.
FINE BEACHFRONT DINING
During the day and in the evening, the beachfront in Cabarate has dozens of restaurants that open onto the beach. Cabarate is a quaint, bustling town with unique shops, grocery stores and bakery. Enjoy a drink or a meal and immerse yourself into the wonderful culture of this dynamic Dominican town.
We are located 20 minutes east of Cabarete on a quiet country road. We do have neighbors, however, you feel a great sense of serenity and tranquility in this private little piece of paradise. The distance to Cabarete is close enough for convenience but just the right distance away for enjoying the peace and serenity that Casa Linda offers. It is the perfect location for visitors that value their privacy and enjoy waking up to birds singing and waves crashing on the beach.
Over the years my husband and I visited many different Caribbean islands. After vacationing for four or five years on the north shore of the Dominican Republic we realized this was where we wanted to build our vacation villa.
The year round good weather, beautiful countryside and the friendliness of the Dominican people ensure we enjoy the time we spend there.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
We wanted to be fairly close to the town of Cabarete so we could enjoy the shops, restaurants and grocery stores. However, we preferred to build our villa in a quiet country setting directly on the ocean. Friends of ours discovered our building lot on a charming little country road. The moment we saw the beautiful beach and abundance of coco trees, we knew that this was our idea of a private paradise.
In the morning we wake up to the sounds of birds singing and the waves rolling in on our beach.
While we have our breakfast of fresh local fruit our gardener is making sure the pool is absolutely perfect. We watch our housekeeper's brothers out fishing in front of our villa and later they will come by with fresh lobster or crab, if you choose to buy it, they will clean & cook it. Perhaps, we will arrange to have a massage on the beach that day, it is all amazing!!
The only con in paradise is that the ice in my gin tonics melts so quickly! But, for a couple pesos we had the property manager, Willy bring us a bag of ice so all my concerns are gone!
It's siesta now as I write this review. My friend is asleep on a lounge chair in front of the turquoise pool water. There's a small cat sprawled out just under another lounger. Everyone is loving Dominican life.
A constant, subtle breeze rustles the palms, and the glorious ocean waves crash and roll in and out. Their thunderous rumble is loud but peaceful. The ocean has always been therapeutic to me, and this vacation is just what I needed. The sun is shining and my heart sings!
Casa Linda is a beautiful property-clean and inviting, simple and luxurious. Vaulted ceilings throughout, tall, over-sized windows, and sliding glass doors make for a spacious and breezy beach house. Long linen curtains with simple hooks make it easy to open and close frequently throughout the day depending on the sun and wanted privacy. The pool is amazing: sparkling clean, cool and refreshing. Loungers, chairs and tables make for the perfect day in the sun.
The weather is fantastic: Sunny and hot with a steady breeze off the ocean. Dusk rolls in about 6pm, along with the night watchman, Angelo. Cosme is just down the driveway and keeps the grounds and the pool pristine. Mari cleans up the kitchen and does our laundry and towels daily. Willy is the perfect chauffer and property manager- informative, pleasant, and patient. We asked for fresh fish and the next day Willy's uncle came up with a huge, fresh-off-the-boat dorado!! Mari made us a delicious marinade and my friend played Grill Queen that night. It was amazingly delicious!
Overall, everything was just perfect! We rested and relaxed on the beach and by the pool, swam and ate fresh seafood, sipped cocktails and soaked in the sun. Casa Linda was just the ticket for a perfect Girls Getaway!
My family had a great vacation in DR/Casa Linda.
Our especial thanks to Linda, Mari, Cosme, Angelo and Willy.
The glowing reviews from prior are all accurate. There is so much more that is right with going here,
the details. I was blown away that Tom and Linda would leave for guest use a local cell phone to call
Willy - the Property Manager/Driver. Little touches like that are apparent that these folks take care
of the details to ensure a worry free vacation. I know there is some anxiety possible when booking
a private property like this, but rest easy, prepare to be impressed, I was.
Lovely home in a great location on the beach. Staff was very helpful and attentive. This is a great place to stay if you really want to get away. We had the beach virtually to ourselves throughout our stay. Very quiet and peaceful.
The property was perfectly situated on the beach! Very few neighbors, so we got the beach all to ourselves. Nice, clean pool and pool space with umbrellas and beach chairs, grill and outside dining table. The bedrooms were spacious, with fans in roof and by bed-side and each had its own bathroom. The water in the showers though was not warm, more luke.. but this is Dominican Republic, and is to be expected :-) The living room area was big with couch and chairs (could have been a bit more comfortable though..), books to read and movies to watch if desired. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking just about everything, but water cooler did not provide cold water, and some glasses could have been replaced as they had seen better days :-). The property was kept very clean by Mari, who came every morning to ensure everything was kept in order, including cleaning our clothes if we wanted. Cosme, the pool keeper, came each morning to ensure the pool was in perfect condition, and he also helped with bugs etc when needed (it was the first rain in many months, so we had him fumigate the place to kill some mosquitos). If we wanted some local food dinners in the house, Mari was more than happy to cook for us for USD 20 and the food was great! We could also get fish/lobsters from her brother who was a fisherman, but- the lobster is a bit expensive. Crab is more reasonable. At night we were kept safe by a gard (whos name I am sorry I do not remember), but it was good to know that we were being taken well care of. We did not rent a car, Willy took us everywhere we needed to go, including stores and outings in the vicinity. He charged us less than the taxi rate, but since gas prices have recently risen it was not very cheap. But considering we did not need to rent a car it was a good deal. We went to Cabarete at night- cool beach bar- street! And we went to Rio San Juan to a beautiful beach, where we had a boat trip in the mangroves. Great outing!
I will highly recommend this house as a vacation location if you want to spend time and see the REAL Dominican Republic, away from tourists etc :-). And lastly- Linda was very service minded and responded very quickly to all e-mails and queries prior to our trip :-)
As the title says, "Oops, we did it again!" We came BACK to Casa Linda exactly 1 year later to celebrate our 1 year anniversary/honeymoon without our children this time. As much as I thought it could never be possible, this trip was even BETTER than our first time! So much better that we extended our stay a few days (thank you again, Tom and Linda for allowing us to do so) and even had the wonderful pleasure of meeting and spending time with Tom! Once again, the staff, Willie, Cosme, and Mari, went above and beyond to make our stay our best vacation EVER!!! Words cannot describe what a wonderful place this is.....only made better by the people (Linda, Tom, The Staff, and the locals!) Our hopes now are to buy our own little piece of paradise in Las Canas, but until that happens (and as long as Linda and Tom will allow), we will continue to call Casa Linda our Paradise Home!!!
