Moonridge Cottage 'Almost Heaven'...closer than you think! Enjoy the atmosphere of a by-gone era, and the quaint charm of this mountain cottage. Additional photos are available at community.webshots.com/user/escapeartist100; click on 'Moonridge' album and feel free to view other albums depicting local beauty. Enjoy Sam and Bobby's hospitality and amenities such as fresh, home-baked breads, a kitchen stocked with basic staples if you choose to do some cooking, gourmet teas and coffees - all at no additional charge. Catering can be arranged for special occasions. The Ericssons are on-site (300 yards 'up the mountain') year round. 'Moonridge' is the working art studio of artist and host, Bobby Ericsson, and is available for vacation rental during non-use periods by the artist. There are works of art and art materials on site so please supervise your children at all times.

  • $135 per week night; $160 per weekend night; $780 per week
  • (One time $50 cleaning fee for any length stay);
    Reservations must be guaranteed by $200 reservation/security deposit.
    One week cancellation notice required; two weeks notice
    required around holidays or for Mountain Heritage Arts and
    Crafts Festival. Reservations canceled prior to the above
    time periods will be charged $30 service fee.

Additional Information: Handicapped Accessible: The path to the house from the driveway is not smooth. There is one step going into the cabin. Bathroom doorway and bathroom are narrow. Kid Friendly: Moonridge is a working art studio, so parents must be responsible for small children. Paintings and framing supplies are often stacked against walls. $200 security deposit. Smoking Not Allowed: No smoking on the screened porch either.

Charming Rustic Cabin

My sister and her husband came to stay with us for Thanksgiving and we wanted to get away for a few days and saw the ad for the cabin on the internet. We contacted the owners and booked our stay for two nights. When we arrived Bobby and Sam were so nice and made sure we had everything we needed to make us comfortable. The cabin was very charming (decorated so nice). We really enjoyed our stay. We went to Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown to shop and eat. We also visited the casino.

Great for secluded, relaxed honeymoon

My husband and I stayed at Moonridge for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We were able to sleep and relax, but also have sights to see locally (Harpers Ferry & Charlestown are really quick drives) The property has a wonderful feel to it that you can't see in the pictures. The inside of the cabin has a wonderful rustic feel, but with very comfortable furniture. There are three skylights that light the cabin up during the day. The kitchen really is well stocked for cooking. Surrounding the cabin are trees that you can hear as the wind whispers through them. Every day we say deer outside the cabin. The porch is fully screened in and has a couch that is great for reading and napping!

I would highly recommend this as a place to get away to have a relaxing and quiet getaway.

Bobbi and her husband were very accomodating and were great to talk to about the local sights and places to visit. If you do rent the property, be sure to pay attention to Bobbi's directions once you get in the neighborhood (mapquest made it overly confusing).

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend in the charmingly rustic Moonridge cabin. The owner's are fantastic. The property is extremely clean and the accomdations have a feeling of both home and the country. It's easy to find, yet you feel like you're deep in the mddile of the mountains. It's only a 10 minute drive from Charles Town. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you're going to Harpers Ferry!

Fall Weekend

Moonridge is a great place to get away from the city - close enough to DC to make it an easy trip as well.

The leaves were beautiful and the cabin so peaceful. It was very nice to have our own kitchen so we didn't have to eat out for every meal.

All in all, it is a great place to spend a weekend or a week - i have recommended it to several friends since returning.

We will definitely return.

This was one of the most fantastic vactions we have had. Bobby and Sam are the best hosts you could ever ask for...fresh bread and donuts and their welcoming hospitility. The cabin and area are a dream come true. The wildlife is beautiful and comes to your front door almost. It is a place you do not want to miss!!!! Thanks again Bobby and Sam for everything and we will be seeing you soon.
