Wonderful House - Wonderful Island

There’s a reason this home is rented for much of the year – it is fabulous!
My husband and I could not have selected a better vacation rental for our first trip to the Caribbean. With the warm ocean just feet from the beautiful back porch (water shoes are a good idea), a well-appointed home, and a great deal of privacy, you’ll have little need to leave the property. We were delighted to have been met at the airport and escorted to the house, as well as being led to the gourmet grocery store just minutes away to “stock up.”
The property is beautiful, and the house was clean and well-stocked with towels and linens. The home is accurately reflected in the photos, if not better. The drive to the home through a lightly populated area is via some very washed-out roads and is slow going. We were told this resulted from hurricane damage. But this provided a great way to get used to “driving on the left” and was not a problem. The availability of a pre-paid cell phone was a nice touch as our New England-based cell phones had no service.
The master bedroom was comfortable, and the en suite with Jacuzzi bath tub was wonderful. We had no need to use the 3 other bedrooms, but each was roomy and more than adequate. It should be noted that the two bedrooms with private access can, in fact, only be accessed from the outside (nicely converted garage) and may not be suitable for younger children. The kitchen and charcoal grill (not to mention the wine cooler!) allowed us to prepare great meals and enjoy watching the full moon rise over the ocean.
We loved the slow pace of Provo during off-season. Fun activities (car rental a must) included Da Conch Shack (best conch fritters we had), Reef Peeper scuba excursion, and not to be missed – Seadoo/Jet Ski rentals! The marina is just a few minutes from the house where rentals are available, and it’s a blast to fly by the house on a Jet Ski.
Our sincere thanks to Terri and to all the lovely people of Provo we met who made our vacation so enjoyable. It was terribly hard to leave, and we look forward to returning.
