A recently constructed path along us-31 bascule bridge also allows bicyclers to travel safely over the Grand River between Grand Haven, Ferrysburg, and Spring Lake. Popular bicycle routes on the north side of the river include the Lakeside Trail, a 15-mile path around Spring Lake, and North Shore Road with widened shoulders on both sides of the road that lead to North Beach Park on Lake Michigan.
