Last week I visited Taos with a large group of friends and we needed the space of Compound at Stargazer. When we arrived, we were delighted. In the past, I had stayed at Desert Oak, Linda's traditional adobe in the historic district. The Compound was very well equipped for our group of 16 and it was a great place to return home to after daily jaunts around Taos. We found it spotless and well appointed, in an ecclectic mix of Taos funk and charm. It was so convenient and had great views of the mountains. At night, we dined under the stars, with seating for all, around a marble table. Conveniently there was a 6 burner gas grill right there. After dinners we sat around the campfire and counted shooting stars. We had a running Pool tournament during the week and relaxing in the hot tub was always a delight. When we arrived we were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, along with a bottle of wine, chips and salsa at each of the two homes. Linda's extensive website and photos were clear, accurate and very helpful. But most important was her attentiveness to us. She answered many questions, as only a local can, before our arrival and then checked in with us during our stay. She joined us for dinner one evening...I felt I was returning to visit an old friend. I can't wait to return. Fall in the mountains was spectacular.
