A rugged stone tower built on a lofty hill by the noble Atti family in the late 1300s to defend their lands. As you look out from its rooftop terrace over the now peaceful Umbrian hillscape, a richly hued checkerboard of olive groves, vineyards and fields of sunflowers, accented by rows of majestic cypress trees. In restoring this remarkable building, the owners have made a point of keeping its original fabric intact, preserving the splendid medieval stonework, beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces, antique doors and many other details, while cleverly including the latest of modern comforts – even an elevator to take you to the top. And as a showcase of present skills as well as past, for furnishings they have combined heirloom antiques with pieces by several renowned designers such as Philippe Starck, Le Corbusier, Verner Panton and Ron Arad. Thus Torre Atti offers a truly unique experience for those who wish to savor the best of Continental life, be it ancient or modern.
