Hiking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or a round of championship golf at nearby resorts, are just a few of the activities available. This FAMILY friendly home is located DIRECTLY ON LAKE GLENVILLE, the largest and highest fresh water lake east of the Mississippi. Come visit now! Hike or take the canoe and tour the deep, cool water just outside your door. Remember your fishing pole! First class golfing is available at Trillium and Sapphire Valley courses. Nearby skiing is available in the winter and we now have boats for rent at your private dock on the lake. Family reunions-- our speciality! Bring everyone- grandma AND Fido!

Fall leaves and THANKSGIVING in the mountains: Leaves are the big draw for the month of October, but September offers solitude and wonderful weather. Popular fall craft shows abound in the area and 'leaf watchers' take daily rides to see the changes throughout October. Great for Family Reunions! Room for everyone!

This high end, expansive home is DIRECTLY ON THE LAKE in the mountains at 3700 feet above sea level. Lake Glenville is a resort area for outdoor activities all year round. Summer brings so much to do with boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, or golfing. Just minutes away are both Cashiers or Highlands where many enjoy shopping for antiques and works of art. Fall craft festivals are local events, and winter brings fun with snow skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Any time and any season is a great time in the mountains on the lake! Most of all, it is a great area to relax with family and to enjoy the cooler temperatures in summer, Fall leaves, or snow skiing.

Other Activities: TWO BOATS ARE AVAILABLE.

1) 20FT 'SMOKER CRAFT' FISHING/CRUISING PONTOON BOAT, Live bait well; seating for 8-10 people.

Competitive rates: Daily@$275. Three days: @$700; Five days@1050; Weekly@$1400

2) 21ft SEA RAY BOWRIDER with 357 hp engine. Fast boating for tubing, skiing, or wakeboarding. 8 people. Rates: Weekly@ $1875; 5 days @ $1550; 3 days @ $1050; Daily @ $365.

All rentals are to be returned with a FULL TANK of gas. Liability waiver required.

Golf: World class golfing is available at Sapphire Valley and Trillium Resorts. Golf in cool summer temperatures while making your way through the courses above 3000 feet. This is a sought after destination and your rental home is only 3 minutes from the finest course at Trillium. Pack your clubs and get away to the splendor of a mountain golf paradise and stay on the Lake.

If there are others who don't share your golfing zeal, they can relax on the dock or go into the nearby towns for shopping and lunch at a gourmet restaurant. (Leave the credit card! You won't need it at the golf course!)

Ski: Skiing is available at Sapphire Valley (15 minutes away) and Maggie Valley (1 hour away). Not exactly the slopes of the Rockies, but definitely fun for those who are still amateurs. Equipment rental is very affordable, as well. A new snow tubing area has been added and seems to be as popular with the younger folks as downhill skiing.

Maggie Valley is just an hour away and has more challenging slopes. They also rent equipment on site.

When you are all worn out, return home to sit in front of the fireplace with a hot cocoa and a great movie!

  • Very clean, stylish rooms with antique and mountain lodge accents. The expansive and luxurious master suite with jacuzzi, is on the main floor for guests with mobility challenges. No wheelchair ramp, but only two steps at the front door to the main level-- where all living activities occur. Upstairs bedrooms feature sleeping room for 10 people. Queen-sized bed with large sitting area overlooks the lake. Other bedrooms include twin beds and a special whimsical window seat twin bed. One room contains a full bed and two twins that overlook the lake and the 24 foot stone fireplace. Also on main level: kitchen, dining room, living room with TV and fireplace, and wrap around covered porch, overlooking the lake with Bar-B-Que grill. There is ample privacy for older adults and areas just perfect for children. We Love Families! Bring the gang!

Notes: Older guests have the ability to be with everyone in the main living areas of the home, as the master suite with private bath is on the main level....Kitchen, dining and Dish TV are on both lodge levels. Bring the little people! Baby gates are available for the added safety of young ones. Gentle slope to the dock about 75 feet from the porch. (This is a big plus in our area.) Walk to lake is not wheelchair accessible, however is not difficult, as can be a big problem at other local rentals. Mid week cleaning and baby sitting available upon request.

Our family enjoyed this spacious & comfortably furnished lake home nestled directly on a water access with beautiful views across the lake. Relaxing on the dock, viewing the autumn leaves, outings in the canoe & trips to the nearby Cornucopia Restuarant, coffee shops & Cashier's Farmers Market, were highlights for us. We found this lodge to have a family atmosphere with plenty of accomodations for a home-away- from- home feel. Even our dog enjoyed this pet-friendly place, with its variety of wildlife to observe. Owner was hospitable & helpful in everyway, which reflected the attention to detail & charm of this property. We would recommend it to others, & would look forward to coming back ourselves.

Luxury in the mountains

This beautiful luxury home was our getaway for an entire week. Nestled in the mountains, overlooking beautiful Lake Glenville, this home was the perfect location for our family fun week of boating, waterskiing, hiking, and enjoying a glass of wine on the deck in the evenings. Hosted by the fantastic Carpenter family, we enjoyed lovely pontoon boat rides around the lake and learned about the area's interesting history. In nearby Cashiers, we found gourmet restaurants and quaint gift shops. Strolling down the lane. Relaxing on the dock. Spending time with family. What could be better? We can hardly wait to come back next year and do it all over again. Thanks for a great time!

We spent a fantastic week in August with our grown children. We rented the owners boat and it was a wonderful plus to this rental. The pictures do NOT do this house justice. Our favorite part was the owners of the property you will meet the most amazing family when you stay here! We would never go anywhere else on lake glenville!

Amazing Cabin on Lake Glenville!

My family of 12 stayed in this beautiful cabin last week and enjoyed everything about it. It is in a truly beautiful setting on a part of the lake that is not high traffic-which was important to us with 7 kids. The house is incredible and very clean. It is situated perfectly inside so that even when you are indoors you have amazing views from every room. We came equipped with tons of food (the kitchen was well equipped to cook just about anything) and did not have to leave the house once for entertainment...the home and lake provided everything we needed for the entire week of our stay. The owners were great and very helpful. We also rented the boat they have available and although it was not necessary in order to enjoy the lake, it was great fun and we all enjoyed tubing and exploring the lake as well as visiting the waterfalls that flow into it. We also all took turns paddling out in the canoe and kayak and even around the small island that is just beyond the cove that the house sits in. The swimming was great-with no fear of anything in the lake at all. The water is warm and clean. All in all, this home is amazing and I can not think of one single thing that would stop us from renting it again in the future. We highly recommend it!

Best Vacation Ever

What a perfect vacation home for our large party of 12 including 7 kids between the ages of 3 - 15. The house was very nice and had plenty of spaces for everyone. We spent most of our time on the dock and lake - swimming, boating & fishing or on the back porch doing puzzles or on the middle deck relaxing. We loved the large family style table for dining & playing family games. The kids enjoyed switching sleeping spaces each night and we all loved having the windows open all week in the middle of August with the temperature cool & perfect! We all hope to come back again next year!
