The ocean front patio is a great place to watch the sun rise or set.
We had 3 children 10 and under with us and had a blast swimming, snorkeling and fishing near the condo. The condo itself is beautiful and all the helpful tips on car rental, fishing charter, etc were spot on. We definitely would choose this condo again. P.s. it's no big deal driving on the left side...give it a try if you haven't and explore the island.
We took our extended family here as a celebration for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We had a WONDERFUL time here. The condo is absolutely beautiful and spacious. We had enough room for our whole family of 8. The views are priceless and the beach was fantastic. My mom could make the walk across the rocks to the beach when the tide was low. You do need a car, however; it was nice to get out of downtown and always return back "home" to a quiet, safe and relaxing environment. We also had 3 children who loved the pool. Sue was extremely helpful in answering questions that I had prior to our arrival and we hope to return. We will never forget our special occasion and so glad that we chose this condo. Thank you, again.
P.S. Brad's car rental was also so nice to help in delivering ALL of our luggage to the condo.
This condo was just perfect for our group (2 adults and 4 kids-ages 16-21). It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Beautiful view of the ocean and really nice beach just to the right, probably 50 yards from patio door. We loved the beach-we had it completely to ourselves. The ocean was perfect-shallow for a long ways out so its perfect if you have little kids. The area where the condo is at felt very safe. It was far enough away from the tourist-y parts of the island but not too far to drive to grocery store or restaurants in Lucaya. Susan was very helpful. Always answered my emails quickly and had great info for when we arrived-places to go, and things to see. We all loved it there, and hope to go back again another time!
PS. I have to mention how great Brad's Car Rental was. We missed our flight to the Bahamas-originally supposed to arrive at noon. Our airline helped us find a new flight but it didn't arrive until 9pm (which I know is after business hours). I called Brad's to let them know we were going to be late and she let me know someone would be there to meet us. I wasn't sure how this would all work out, but there they were, waiting for us when we landed. I was so relieved. Nice, clean mini van waiting for us when we got there. So off we went, into the dark, trying to find our way 'home". It all made for an adventure :)
We stayed here for a week between Christmas and New Years with our adult kids and son-in-law. The condo is very spacious - plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out. Large kitchen with room for everyone to cook and very comfortable living and dining area. Cable TV in every room and a huge TV in the family room.
The view out the back is fantastic - you have to walk around some rocks and stuff to get to a more swimmable beach but when the tide is out, it is huge. You can also drive 5 minutes to the Xanadu beach - we had it to ourselves. Crystal blue water and white sand. The water was very calm when we were there so it would be a great swimming beach for kids.
Since we were arriving on Christmas day, we brought a cooler of meats, cheese, etc... with us and a suitcase full of non-perishable items. Good move since the grocery stores were pretty pricy - the only item customs was looking for was fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, beer was VERY expensive. $42 a case for the local beer. You can bring a case of beer in from the US and pay an $18 duty. That was too complicated for us but if you are picky about your beer, take it under advisement.
I recommend a car - the condo is not walking distance to shops or restaurants. And the best beaches are a drive away. Highly recommending taking a drive to Grand Lucaya National Park - the beach is fantastic. When you get there, however, walk a few hundred feet to either side of the entrance. The tour groups drop off and all cluster around the entrance. If you take the walk, you will feel like you are on a private beach. Bring provisions as there are no services at the beach. We also took a trip to Paradise Cove (deadman's reef). The entry fee is $3 a person. The beach is small but the reef is great for snorkeling - there is an excursion to another reef where they charge $79 PP. For $3 a person plus about $15 for snorkel equipment (or bring your own), you can get the same experience but with more people. They have a fantastic grill - grouper fingers are to die for - and you can rent chairs, etc... This and Lucaya National Park were the highlights of our trip.
The Condo isn't too far from anything - about 15 minutes to Lucaya Marketplace where there are tons of restaurants, shops etc... We did hit the casino - it gets mixed reviews but we had fun on a rainy day and didn't bust the bank. Restaurants were hit or miss - beach shacks and home cooking were best!
Our family stayed at the most beautiful condo while we were in the Bahamas. It was perfect for relaxing on the patio wih stunning views of the water. The owners were very easy to communicate with, and they made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
The condo was beautifully maintained, and extremely clean. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a piece of paradise in the Bahamas!
We rented this condo in Jan 2013 for two families (8 people total). The condo is wonderful with high foot 10+ ceilings, very well maintained, a master bed with french door few yards from the ocean and a huge living room and kitcen also with french doors opening up to patio that faces the ocean. There are two other bedrooms each with their own baths. There is a little lawn a step down from the patio on the few feet walk towards the ocean and coconut trees in the yard. The condo upkeep is great. The beach is a 2 min walk towards the right. We had night dinners in the lawns that overlooked the ocean. Snorkelling is available right in front of the condo and the reef is about 200ft (horizontally) into the ocean. Be carefull, if you venture out too far into the ocean...beyond 300 ft horizontal into the ocean, it can drop steep. I would recommend experienced adult supervision when snorkelling. We saw some brain coral, crabs, and plenty of fish. There is a crab guy who comes out and dives for crabs early morning right in front of the condo so you can get some fresh crab legs from him like we did, otherwise there is a fishermen marker right across butlers grocery about 10 min drive where you can get fresh fish and conch. The condo is stocked with beach toys, 2 beach boards, floaties etc for kids and a big hammok that you can put out on the lawn and enjoy the ocean. We rented Cooper taxi for the time we were there and service was excellent and affordable and helped us tour the whole island, with one day each at deadman reef (snorkelling), caves and diamond beach (east side of island), port lucaya market place, Shark feeding restaurant etc etc. and was also available on call all day if our program changes. All in all the condo was excellent and we felt like we were at home on the ocean!
Relax by the beach that’s just steps away, or soak up the sun next to the pool. Feeling adventuresome? Snorkel the reefs just outside your door, or visit Port Lucaya for shopping, restaurants and great Bahamian excursions. There are plenty of activities: diving, fishing, snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins, nature kayaking at Grand Bahama National Park, horseback riding and parasailing. These are all within easy reach by car!
