About CHARLIE OR MONICA

While visiting family in Breckenridge, CO for summer and winter vacations, we fell in love with the area and decided it would be a wonderful place to own a second home. When we found this cabin, we knew it was meant to be. We were so mesmerized by the property and cabin, that we lost track of time and missed our plane home. We love how you feel when you're at the cabin. You're away from all the stresses of daily life without being isolated. The surrounding mountains and creeks and pond make it special. It's a place for us to reconnect with family and nature. And it doesn't hurt that there are so many fun things to do near by!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to let you know that the stay at the cabin was unbeliveable. We were so amazed at the scenary and location of the cabin. We saw all types of wildlife while staying such as moose, mountain Lion, beavers and elk, what an adventure. The kids were thrilled by the fish in the pond and were overjoyed by the snow that came down while we were their. The location was close enough to larger communities but yet far enough away. I use to work for Texas Parks & Wildlife and visited many Parks and have seen very nice areas along with nice cabins, this compared to yours were no match. Your location was nicer than any location I have ever visited, and I have been to many locations.

Gorgeous and breath taking

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at many rental houses at and around Breckenridge and this is so far my favorite. The house is beautiful, spacious and the views are unforgettable. We can't wait to visit in the summer to fully explore the property. We fully recommend 4x4 during winter. We got 5 to 6 in. of snow during our stay and you will definitely need it getting to the house. The driveway was perfect for our little kiddos to sled down to and this is the first time we didn't want to leave to town because the peacefulness and beauty of the property was enough. We love that the kids can just go out and play as much in the snow and we get to relax and we can view them from the house. I did just wish there was a tub for baths for the really cold days to soak in. But otherwise the house is well maintained, great kitchen for cooking for family meals, comfy beds and love, love the views! Can't wait to come back!!!!

Slice of Solitude

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing set-up. The cabin is comfortable, modern, spacious, and well-appointed, yet has a rustic log cabin flair that adds a welcome element of rugged character. The property is simply breath-taking (as is the elevation, but that is par for the mountain course, as it were). Although just minutes from 2 small towns (and about 45 mins from Breckinridge via a beautiful and highly recommended drive), the property is perfectly placed seemingly miles away from civilization and at the mouth of a small "private" valley shadowed by impressive peaks. The cabin itself is enveloped by small snow-fed streams that essentially form a "moat" around it and that coalesce into a small private pond filled with trout that you can actually see from the banks. The beauty of this place is enhanced by the natural symphony of its bubbling brooks, which are always in concert (at least in July). The owners are wonderfully hospitable and seem to be really great people (thanks again, Monica). Simply put, the pictures do no justice to this magnificent slice of solitude. I have stayed at several other "seemingly similar" Colorado cabin sites via VRBO, and this was by far the best and most beautiful. Highly recommended.

So glad we stayed here!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Charlie and Monica for sharing you beautiful property and home with us. The cabin is so comfortable and you had is stocked with everything we could have wanted. We hiked to the very top of one of the mountains and had a snowball fight in July! My kids loved that! We saw 3 big male moose and a mom and baby. We also saw about 100 humming birds! All the kids got to catch a fish too!

So much fun!
