wine country getaway:
Sonoma Wine Country encompasses thirteen wine growing appellations with more acres of vineyards than Napa. This premium wine growing region produces some of the finest Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
At the heart of Sonoma Wine Country is its largest appellation, The Russian River Valley. West side road is just one of many beautiful back roads joining Guerneville to Healdsburg through winding Tuscan scenery and family winery after family winery where most wine tasting and tours are free.
Russian river fishing:
The most exciting and challenging fishing starts in fall. First to come to the river are the Chinook who start their migration in late September continuing into early December. Small Steelheads (1/2 to 4 lbs) follow these Salmon up the river and larger adult Steelheads start in November running through the winter months into late March. Summer brings warmer water and the bite turns on for Small and Large Mouth Bass. These fish, along with Bluegill and Catfish provide solid fishing all summer long for our many visitors.
Russian River fun:
As the Russian River meanders through the wine country it offers itself as an ideal chance for kayakers of all levels. There are kayak and canoes rentals that supply the boats, life vests, paddles, and transportation and just let you have a magnificent time paddling down the river. These are down stream trips on the river where boaters are transported from start and end locations. There are many river accesses and beaches which let you swim in deep water or sunbathe at the beach. In addition the Ocean is a 20 min drive for more activities during your vacation
