If your looking for an ADORABLE CABIN,'on the river'....easy access to Atlanta and North Georgia THIS IS IT. The DECK is literally ..on the River! Sit down and just enjoy the sound of the river or go down and take time to do a little fishing or just curl up and read a good book!
The cabin is truly great with a living room and fireplace, nice master bedroom with bath, cute kitchen with 'Wolf' stove, small dining area. Please note that the cabin has an under the counter refrigerator. Also, it has two window unit air conditioners with ceiling fans. We usually have cool nights and pleasant days in the mountains, but check all the pictures and note what is and is not available.
There is a television for DVD's with a good selection. No cable. Most guests are not coming to the mountains to watch television and the cable isn't great in this area! LOT'S of books and magazines
Location is at the end of a dead end road, only woods directly across from the river and twenty minutes to the outlet mall, if shopping is your thing.
Ten minutes to the delightful town of Dahlonega where you can shop, dine in over 20 restaurants, canoe down the river, hiking trails galore, horseback riding less than two miles. OR...you can head to downtown Dahlonega and get your Starbucks fix. Stay for a weekend or come and hang out for a week! These locations are hard to find and you will love this beautiful 'hideaway'.
WHAT RENTER'S HAVE TO SAY
'We will be back!! We absolutely loved the cabin. It has such a relaxing feeling to it that we immediately felt at home. It was wonderful being able to relax with our dogs. You have a very special place here on the river! C & Ed B Atlanta
'Charming cabin-Great location- Ooh La La - there is a 'wolf' in the kitchen. A hop & skip over to Dahlonega. How that place has changed since my youth! The Crimson Moon Cafe- yum yum. Our daughter enjoyed the General Store, something a little different for a city kid. Speaking of things she enjoyed- we had waffles every morning (your waffle maker). Too cold to enjoy the deck, but next time. Thanks Anita! ' The Franzman's
'And the heavens declare the glory' SO great to see the stars! Awesome relaxing. We loved hearing the river.' J & Deena

So glad you understand the thing about pets.'

I live in the area on a farm and love the North Georgia Mountains! I am a realtor specializing in unique properties. I am also a mom, gardener, writer, and social media coach. I love to cook, entertain, and decorate. (I think you will see that, at my cabin). I want my guests to feel right and home and to particularly enjoy a place of peacefulness, serenity and beauty. A place to rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of life and to 'reconnect'! I love providing a beautiful place with lot's of books, magazines, DVD's .....AND I hang the sheet's out on the line to dry (makes them feel crisp! And ...I iron the pillow cases. Okay...I know it sounds strange, but everything is so YOU have the best experience possible. (Also have a towel warmer in the bathroom!)
Anita Wheeler purchased this cabin in 2008
This area of Georgia is PERFECT. Only 45-60 minutes to Atlanta, yet you feel in a different world. This cabin is a JEWEL. I have been told over and over. Dead-end rode. Private. ON...the river. The deck sits on the river. I LOVED IT...the moment I saw it. If you come to
visit, you'll get the whole story. It is truly magical and will do it's magic on you!
Connection to nature. Peace, tranquility, PURE JOY of the art of just 'BEING'. For a few days or a week you reconnect to yourself, your partner, your kids, your pet's in a very real way. You will be only 15 minutes to the Dahlonega and convenient to hiking, horse riding, wine-tasting and shopping... You can sit on the deck and fish right off it or build a fire in the fire-pit and roast marshmellows or just enjoy sitting on the sofa and reading a book as the sounds of the river surround you! Come and enjoy the healing qualities of nature.
Such a perfect mountain getaway for me and my husband! The cabin was so quaint, cozy and clean :-) We had a relaxing time fishing off the deck and listening to the river. The cabin is tucked away in the woods and very private. We definitely will be visiting again when we need a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta!
We had a great week in this cabin. Great location and beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the deck and sitting by the fire pit. We also visited all the vineyards in the area. Excellent place to relax, though there are lots of activities to keep you active.
This is a cute cabin, with nice furnishings and a great romantic getaway spot. However the cabin is in need of a good cleaning. Everything was very, very dusty and musky. Also, the kitchen stove and outside grill were terribly dirty so we elected not to cook anything. If the property had not been so dusty & dirty would give it a much higher rating.
My wife and I had an enjoyable weekend while attending a reunion in the area. The cabin is well apointed and just right for a couple's retreat. The view of the river was a special treat--very relaxing and calming. The owner was very responsive to questions and helpful in providing information. The location felt remote, although Dahlonega was only 20 minutes away, and it is close to many excellent wineries. I definetly would consider returning to the cabin for another weekend stay.
Had a great three night stay. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and cute. The deck was comfortable, and I enjoyed relaxing by the river at night. The owner -Anita was very professional and accommodating. All key sites - Dahlonega, Helen, wineries, etc were about 15-30 minutes drive. The wireless internet was fast - and made up for the lack of cable tv (cabin has netflix and DVD's). My only negative was that I had problems with cell phone reception (ATT and TMobile) on our phones. Frankly though the whole Dahlonega area has major cell phone coverage gaps - so not sure you can avoid this issue no matter where you stay.
Enjoyed the cabin so much I booked another weekend in Oct., and hope to be back sooner! We came for the art festival in Dahlonega, but the peacefulness and beauty of the cabin is what made it perfect. The sound of the river and rain on the roof is so relaxing. It has everything you need - just bring groceries. Even the pullout sofa was comfortable. Loved that I was able to bring my dog. The area has just about everything - hiking, kayaking, festivals, wineries, and restaurants. We really enjoyed Crimson Moon for their organic coffee and live local music, ad Turners Corner café for good food and friendly locals. Go - you won't regret it.
