This mid-bank oceanfront house is a perfect vacation retreat for couples wanting a romantic getaway or for families wanting an action-packed vacation. You can laze around the 12.5 meter private solar-heated pool (seasonal with new pool liner and cement in 2013), enjoy time in the hot tub (new in 2012) that is through sliding doors off the master bedroom and is available year-round, or sit on the deck and watch the cruise ships go by and the seals play in the water. Even the laziest of children are likely to agree to go for long walks on the beach in both directions as they are tempted by the variety of shells and sea creatures you will encounter. The jellyfish on the rocks and the kelp are always highlights.

For dinner, you can try the many unique restaurants in the Comox Valley, or enjoy dinner on the deck – perhaps fresh seafood you purchased from the fisherman at the harbor complimented by fresh vegetables from the Farmer’s Market that is a 5-minute drive (or a 10-minute bike ride) from the house. In the evening, the absence of city lights allows for magnificent star-gazing from the deck.

The inside of the split-level house has an open concept kitchen and living room with Ship’s oak flooring and the luxuries of a convection oven, gas stove, and a sub-zero fridge. You will enjoy breakfast outsdide at the patio table or inside at the coffee bar with floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire front of the house and a fabulous view of the Sunshine Coast, Texada, Denman, and Hornby Islands.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a large walk-in-closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom. The den contains a 51” TV/DVD and a pull-out queen size couch. There is a large office with high-speed internet access and a printer and a games room with a ping pong table and floor-to-ceiling windows with a pool view.

The house is on a very quiet street, yet is conveniently located close to the Comox International Airport and to all the amenities of the Comox Valley, designated a 2007 Cultural Capital of Canada.

About The Owner

We are from Edmonton, Alberta and spent years looking at vacation properties in Alberta and BC. Then we decided to ski at Mount Washington Spring 2004 and look at real estate 'for fun'. How could we turn down this amazing property when it went on the market that spring? We hope to eventually spend much more of the year in Comox.

Why The Owner chose Comox

We think that this is one of the most desirable properties in Comox as it has a fabulous view, amazing landscaping, wonderful neighbors and an oceanfront pool.

What makes this house unique

This property is amazingly private. The neighbors across the road told us that they had lived in the neighborhood for years before they figured out that there is a pool in our yard. In the evening, the view is constantly changing as the sun goes down.

May 2008 (2 sisters from Bellingham and New York_ - It was lovelier than we would have imagined - the house is not only beautiful but comfortable and designed so thoughtfully. We had brilliant sunshine all day every day for a week. The proximity of Comox offered many restaurants, views - a true joy to be here and we thank you so much for sharing this truly delightful spot! And we loved watching the eagles through the skylight at the top of the stairs! What a happy time we had, with lots of sleep, reading, out for lunch, then back for more naps - a joyful and restful time. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous home.



Summer 2008 - Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to us! The ocean view is absolutely lovely and we were lucky enough to have a night when the moon was full. Dinner was always delicious because we would buy fresh shrimp form :Love and Anarchy:(in Comox Harbor) at 5:00. Another great place we found was the cheapest ice cream in the island - "Goats on the roof Market" in Coombs! We managed to get the last blackberries of the season and when when you mix it with strawberry yogurt? Yum! There were plenty of ducks that were seen from the deck and the pool was fully utilized during our stay. We can't wait to come back!



2007-What a beautiful home for us to use! Thank you for sharing it with us. This was our annual golf week and we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to come home to after a day on the 'links'. We will be back!



2007 - This is such an awesome house!! What an amazing place! We had such a relaxing weekend. Love the ping-pong table! Thanks for having such a wonderful place for us to escape, unwind, and relax. The beach was an amazing adventure, seeing the seashells and tiny little crabs. It was also the perfect spot for a bonfire. The fresh sea air was good for both our lungs and for the fire. The deck and blacony was one of the best I've ever seen.



Two couples from England Oct 2008: Incredible house. Woke happy every morning knowing (whilst eating breakfast) I could see the beautiful ocean and mountains. The fishing was outstanding, salmon most nights for dinner, going in the hot tub before tea was truly heaven. The only negative part was knowing I had to go home. Thanks so much."

Fantastic Home

We spent at a week at this fantastic home and really enjoyed ourselves. We dined at 2 of the restaurants that were recommended to us ( The Black Fin Pub and Titos a Mexican restaurant) both were great. We checked out the farmers market and of course went to the marina and bought fresh halibut and prawns.We checked out a lot of different areas around Comox/Courteney area and it was always a joy to return to this home. The gardens are kept beautiful,and the home sits on a great quiet location great for views and walking on the beach and then soaking in the hot tub.The home itself was very clean and has everything you need.It was hard to leave and come back home. I have to say that this was one of our best getaways and I would reccomend this property to anyone. I know that we will return.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with all of those who visited your house. The view was spectacular in between the raging storms we encountered. I don't think all the years i lived on the island there was that much rain, having said that your house comforted us and myself in all of the storms I encountered while being there. A Holiday We Will Never Forget

We have just returned from the most amazing holiday and the accommodations were a huge factor in this. There were 6 adult family members, from 3 different provinces, and everything about this home exceeded all our expectations. The kitchen was large enough for everyone to have their own work space, even the husbands. Imagine that!! Everything was well maintained, well laid out and great instructions for any questions we might have had.

The weather was getting a bit cool,but we were still able to enjoy the pool and hot tub . The deck and coffee bar were the best places to start and end each day in the most peaceful and relaxing of ways. There is something about watching the sunrise over the Coast Mountains and listening to the waves that will just make your day that much more enjoyable.

The Comox Valley kept us busy with many places to visit and while we would have enjoyed dining at a few more of the local restaurants, most evenings the 6 of us bought fresh, local seafood and veggies to take home to cook on the bbq and enjoy with many of the wines we purchased from the area.

We would highly recommend this place. It was a true pleasure to stay here and we are looking forward to returning in 2015.

Family Easter Weekend

The house is exactly like the pictures with great views and wonderful for entertaining the whole family. We were 6 adults and 2 children under 3 years old and there was plenty of room for everyone. Although the weather wasn't on our side, we did enjoy walks and the hot tub. This property is definitely better in warmer weather so you can enjoy the waterfront and pool. It was spotless and very well equipped. Also in a quiet neighbourhood. Very very enjoyable! We had a great time!
The children slept in the bunk bedroom but adults may be disturbed by the noise of the pool filter in that bedroom (white noise).

very well situated residence with commanding view over the water. all the comforts of home, well appointed. private in it's setting even though neighbours on either side. ideal for families of all descriptions and composition. enough isolated space within for everyone to do their own thing, yet enough central gathering space for full interaction. main level open floor plan quite conducive to socializing. north island at your door. highly recommended.

Great Girls Weekend

Every year my book club of 8 ladies spends a weekend away and this year we spent it here. It was fabulous. The house is well equipped and the open concept makes it great for hanging out and visiting. The views are spectacular and the beach, although somewhat rocky, is very walkable. We made good use of the hot tub and cooked up some great meals. We all liked it so much we may go back next year. The owner gave us very detailed directions, instructions for how everything in the house works. There was also lots of useful information about dining, shopping, recreation and getting around.

The VRBO map does not show the property location but we are on the beach half-way between the airport and downtown Comox. The beach in front of the house is fit for swimming, but rocky. There are sandy beaches within a 5 minute drive in either direction, or there is fabulous swimming at Miracle Beach Provincial Park (about a 25 minute drive north). The house is a 7 minute drive from Comox Harbour, where fisherman sell Today's Catch off their boats at 5PM most days, which makes for an entertaining way of obtaining a superb dinner to eat out on the deck. After admiring the view of Hornby and Denman Islands from the deck of the house, you may choose to do the short day trip to these islands by ferry (or by bicycle if you are very ambitious) to visit the multiple art galleries and unique shops, do some hiking, and visit and spend time at more stunning beaches.
