PRIVATE ESTATE POOL JACUZZI WATER SLIDE LAGOON/OCEAN DOLPHIN MARINA

Puerto Aventuras is beautiful gated community. Our family felt very safe and secure. The house is huge and easily accommodated the 6 adults and 4 kids which were in our group. The chef/cook made several wonderful authentic Mexican meals which were outstanding. The housekeeper kept the place tidy and clean. She also did a great job of supplying us with plenty of beach towels. We spent many hours hanging out by the beautiful pool area. The kids loved the hot tub and slide. There ares several kayaks available which are free to use. The house is adjacent to a calm lagoon and the ocean is only a short paddle from the house. There is a nice beach area across the street and there is good snorkeling in the nearby bay/cove area. There is a pool table in the house which was popular in the evenings.

We rented a Van for our group and we took several day trips. Puerto Aventuras has an ideal location on the Mayan Riviera. The beach at Akumal is only a 10-15 min drive and very beautiful The snorkeling there is excellent. It is a great place to see the sea turtles graze on the sea grass in the calm protected bay area. We also did a day trip to see the Mayan ruins in Coba which is only about an hour drive. There are many interesting ruins sites and huge pyramid which you can climb up if you feel adventurous. Tulum has additional ruin sites and beautiful beach and is about 30 minutes from the house. Playa Del Carmen is only 10-15 minute drive and there are many shops and restuarants to choose from. We spent a couple of evenings dining and hanging out on 5th avenue. We played a round of golf at Riviera Maya Golf Club which was a beautiful course and only 15 minutes away. There is a 9 hole course within Puerto Aventuras but we did not play it.
There are few minor issues which could be improved. The water pressure in the showers is adequate but less than we are used to. The wi-fi/internet did not work. Subsequently,the Vonage phone wasn't working. This was not a big deal for our group but it could be if you were expecting it for work etc...The dishwasher was not working. The housekeeper did majority of the dishes so it wasn't an issue for us but it could be if you were planning to cook your own meals. I am not sure why you would.. when you have a great cook/chef available. Nonetheless, it could be fixed. Some of the outdoor lights by the pool/Patio area were not working. All in all the trip was awesome. I wish I were still there.
