We moved to Oahu on a whim almost ten years ago, and now have built our life here with a growing family to boot! The North Shore is magical, as many have found, and this is our way of sharing it. We live and breathe this gorgeous place, and are always happy to give suggestions on our favorite spots to make your stay even more special. For many visitors, Hawaii is a once in a lifetime vacation, and this is a constant reminder just how lucky we are to live here!

Wow, where do I begin? From the booking to the departure I received nothing but prompt, professional service from Ryan. She was efficient with her return phone calls and answered all my questions. As the other reviews mentioned the pictures do not capture the spirit of this cottage. It was immaculately clean, updated kitchen, beautiful floors, updated bathroom, had all the cooking amenities you could wish for, all the beach toys, the bikes were a huge plus, and suggestions for places to go on the island. I took the surf girls surfing lesson...awesome, ate at Opal's Thai restaurant...awesome. The location of the cottage was wonderful, steps to the quietest beach on the North Shore, I did yoga on the beach in the morning then went for a swim, saw many turtles in the water. Sitting out on the lanai in the morning having breakfast looking at the beach....awesome. And I can't remember when a VRBO had such comfortable beds! Thank you Ryan for making my stay on the island so comfortable, and relaxing.....I had the best time ever! This is my favorite VRBO by far (and I have stayed at about 10 so far!)

Absolutely Perfect for us!!!

This place is simply GREAT! It is less than 400' from a beautiful quiet beach and that's the route you walk, not "as the crow flies". You can see, and hear the ocean from the lanai which we really enjoyed. The house was very clean, well kept, in good working order, and had nice landscaping as well. It's in a regular North Shore neighborhood about 5 minutes (driving) from Haleiwa where you can get a good cup of coffee, find groceries, have a great restaurant meal, visit the gift shops, or rent boards for the water. The great thing is that when your at the cottage, it's easy to pretend that your local because the neighborhood is what I would consider to be typical. It's quiet, friendly, and comfortable. The owners were fantastic to work with, and made us feel good about our purchase. The whole area has tons to offer. From extreme sports, to secluded beaches (if you know where to look), this place offers versatility in every way. Although It's a far cry from what you might expect in Honolulu, it is a relatively short drive away if you decide to take advantage of the city for a day or so. We are a family of 4 (2 teenage girls) and we absolutely loved it! I would highly recommend this house for those who want to feel like a local and take advantage of the North Shore experience. Have fun!!! Mike from Alaska

We had a very nice visit in the Plumeria Cottage. The quick walk to the beach was very nice and convenient. The cottage was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Haleiwa was a very short drive up the road and had many quaint shops. I loved, loved, loved the drive we took around the North Shore and then along the East Shore down to Kailua. Ryan was very helpful in answering my questions. Thank you for making my mom's first visit to Hawaii memorable!

North Shore visit

We stayed at Plumeria Cottage Feb. 9th through the 17th. We were in Hawaii to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and attend our godson's wedding. It was so pleasant to come back in the evening to our own "home away from home" after exploring and experiencing Oahu. We used the beach chairs left for us at the cottage every day-even in the rain! The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were all friendly. One lady even invited us to share her tent on the rainy day. The ceiling fans and the breeze coming in through the windows kept the bedrooms cool at night. We had 80 to 83 degree days while we were there. We used the insulated cooler bag that was left on the refrigerator for our picnic lunches. We went to Haliewa Joe's for our special anniversary dinner and were not disappointed! The night before we left we went on a sunset dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu out of the harbor close to the Aloha Tower. That will always be a wonderful memory. We found a great place to get lunches-Ted's Bakery just north of Sunset Beach. They have yummy baked goods, numerous sandwich choices, and plate lunches. They had plenty of picnic tables and parking spaces. I wish we had found that place earlier-we would have returned there. The first couple of days we were fortunate enough to see whales out in the ocean right from the beach by the cottage. The location of Plumeria Cottage was perfect-away from the traffic and noise of Honolulu. And yet, we could be anywhere on the island within 1 and a half hours at the most!
Ryan, thank you for letting us use Plumeria Cottage for our vacation from the cold winter!

Basic house with everything you would need. House was clean. We didn't cook any meals. Only used the kitchen to make coffee but it appeared the kitchen has everything you would need. Beds are comfortable. The beach is just across the street. We didn't use it as the waves were unusually high and dangerous. Takes about 30 minutes or so to get into Honolulu, Pearl Harbor etc. There is a very nice town on the roundabout that has great restaurants, harbor etc. Also, do the North Shore Shark Adventure if you are interested in sharks at all. Fantastic!

Don't hesitate to rent this house if you are looking for a clean comfortable place to stay. It has everything you need. I would rent it again without hesitation. Owner and house keeper were very helpful even texting me to ask if we needed anything.
