Overview

Yosemite National Park Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6

LOCATION . . . Approximately 5 minutes from the West Entrance to Yosemite National Park just off Highway 120 at 3,800 foot elevation. The cabin is actually located on the historic Big Oak Flat road into Yosemite National Park which was used by those traveling from the San Francisco Bay Area. Decades ago, the owner of the property in this area actually installed a number of gates along this road in an attempt to inconvenience and discourage those venturing into Yosemite. Obviously, today he is no longer a factor, and people are no longer discouraged from enjoying this beautiful national treasure.

YOSEMITE RIVER CABIN . . . A beautiful retreat, honeymoon getaway for two or more, nature vacation, and fabulous family recreation experience.

THE RIVER . . . : Yosemite River Cabin is situated on nearly 1.25 acres, mostly flat, with beautiful pines, dogwood and cedar. In the evening you'll enjoy moon rises over your back yard. If you arrive in the vicinity of a full moon, you may enjoy a mystical experience from your rear porch. Sip wine on the porch and relax to river sounds and the sounds of the forest while enjoying one of the good books provided, or stroll a hundred feet or so to the river's edge for soothing moments of relaxation and beauty. Your cabin has over three hundred feet of river frontage at the back and to the right of the property. It is located on the South Fork of the Tuolumne River right at the confluence where Big Creek flows into the Tuolumne from its opposite bank.

NATURE IS ABUNDANT . . . : We've noticed when we are in the San Francisco Area where we maintain our other home, we no longer smell fragrances or see wildlife that is as abundant as at Yosemite National Park and Yosemite River Cabin. In nature fragrances and wildlife are plentiful. At the Yosemite River Cabin we have seen swarms of ladybugs, beautiful butterflies (including Blue Dots), fish in the river, lizards, foxes up the road (but so far not on the property), deer (regularly in the area), and a bobcat once. We've even seen a couple bears a few miles away inside the park at Crane Flat, a very common place to view bear we're told. (Crane Flat is also a convenient destination for cross country skiing in Winter.) Yosemite River Cabin is truly a place to see and experience sites uncommon to our daily lives.

THE PROPERTY . . . : Nearly level, the property provides plenty of room for play or relaxation. Enjoy a barbeque, relax in the sun, play in the snow (from time to time in the Winter), or hike and experience nature along one of the many nearby trails. Located within a mile of Yosemite River Cabin at Highway 120 is a general store, which provides some food service and which is a handy place for extra supplies, charcoal, maps, gas, chains in Winter, and souvenirs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We have totally enjoyed our four nights at the cabin. We felt so welcomed when we arrived... Charming, clean and beautifully decorated. Also, nice touch to have the basics and more in the cupboards!

We have spent two full days hiking at Yosemite, Vernal Falls & Tuolumne Meadows & finally wonderful wedding down at the Tuolumne Camp.

Absolutely perfect time!

Thank you,

Diane & Ron

Just as advertised

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Minutes from the west entrance of yosemite (hwy 120). Well equipped kitchen and weber grill outside allowed for easy prep of breakfasts and dinners before and after days in the park. Very quiet location - rare to see a vehicle drive past the home. Highly recommend.

such a perfect cabin for a stay in yosemite. it is right out of the park so its quiet and private. a little (40 min) drive into the main part of the park but who cares when you're passing amazing views and can stop off along the way. my family and i rented it out and everything was in perfect condition when we arrived. the house has everything you need! we are very satisfied with our stay and would recommend it to all!

Highly recommended!

Everything about the cabin was excellent for our family group of two adults and two young adult children. The location is perfect, 4 miles from the entrance to Yosemite park but in a quiet location with little traffic and not too isolated. The kitchen and cabin are very well equipped and an ideal base for a Yosemite holiday. The cabin was clean and well maintained and the river at the bottom of the garden is lovely.

The availability of groceries is quite limited but no problem if, like us, you do a supermarket shop on the journey to the cabin. We found the best grocery store nearby to be the supermarket in Yosemite village.

We would definitely recommend the cabin to others.

Beautiful Cabin Close to Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

This Cabin is in a great location and just amazing! The interior and decorating is fantastic, the beds are comfy and the whole place is clean, perfectly kept and organized! The towels in the small but functional bathroom are AMAZING! The kitchen is cute, well-stocked and has every utensil you may need! No need to go out to eat just make sure you stop in Oakdale for food! If you are planning to go to Yosemite schedule one extra day just to hang out at the Cabin and enjoy the grounds and beautiful river! A marvelous find!! You will not be disappointed!

Great Cabin, Ideal Location

  • 5 of 5

Sorry to give a 5 Star review, so often I think people haven't really thought about this, but we had a great stay here, beginning long before our trip.

It could not have been easier to book & the information we received in return was superb.

The cabin itself is truly wonderful- loved the river & the late nights sat on the porch were idyllic. It was very clean & comfortable, perfect after long days hiking in Yosemite.

You are about a 10 minute drive from the gate to the park itself, with most of the main hikes about a farther 40 minutes away. I can highly recommend the Lembert Dome/Dog Lake hike, which very few people appear to do- and we were there in peak season. The Mist Trails are amazing, but much busier.

There's a great little diner about 7 miles West, the only thing we should have done, was bring more groceries, but that was (a) due to my dietary restrictions & (b) essentially my fault!

We shall definitely be back- I'd love to see the cabin in the Winter.

Oh & the beds are far too comfortable- no one wanted to get up!

Highly, highly recommended.

Great accommodation close to Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was fantastic for our family. Very well kept with everything you would want in a cabin. Its close enough to Yosemite to enjoy all the sites, but further enough away that you are a long way from the crowds. We loved the river and water hole so close - our kids loved swimming every afternoon.
