We do not get a lot of snow in winter and it melts off fast, because we are only at 3000 feet elevation. Last year, however, it did snow on Christmas Day! There are no ski resorts nearby - there used to be a small one at Mt. Lassen, but it has been closed for several years. The month of May is lovely, the bulbs are up and the flowers are still in bloom. It is the start of fishing season, so the fish are very active in the pond. However, you might have a problem with the road through Mt. Lassen - if there is a lot of snow, it will be closed! The months of Sept and Oct are our favorite time of year to be there, the leaves are turning color, the area is very beautiful with warm days and cool nights. Summers are the best, warm, sunny days and the pond is great for swimming! The evenings are always cool - when the sun goes down, so does the temperature. The house is usually booked solid from June through August. Please book early to reserve your dates and let me know by email.
