3 Master suites each with private bath, 4th bedroom with 4 twin beds, sleeps 12

This spacious home offers over 3,600 square feet of living space with three master suites, each with its own private bath, that makes it perfect for three couples or an extended family. Each suite has a full private bath and a queen-size bed. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds and two trundle beds.

There is a nice, open dining room, a living room, and a kitchen area. The kitchen is large enough for at least two cooks. It includes an island with four bar-height chairs and sufficient space to use as a breakfast area. The dining table seats eight -- and up to ten with the additional leaf. There is a gas fireplace between the dining and living areas.

The ground level contains the spacious rec room, with 46' wide-screen TV, DVD player, ping pong table, and yet another full bath with whirlpool tub. Finally, in the middle of the upper floor there is a loft. This area includes a vaulted ceiling with windows along the entire front of the room, to enjoy the full spectrum of the mountain

The view from the front deck (like that from the loft) encompasses the Worcester range of mountains, including Mt. Elmore. The mountain view is close to 180 degrees. In the foreground is a large open meadow -- great for bird-watching. We often have visits from deer as well and have even seen moose!

The back deck has mountain views to the northeast. And you can enjoy our small waterfall and pond with goldfish and frogs surrounded by a private stone patio or practice fly fishing in our trout stocked front pond. During mild weather there is a table and six chairs to enjoy a quiet lunch or breakfast in the shade.

The furnishings are new, comfortable, and tasteful -- in a country style. On the walls hang the works of a number of Vermont artists.

Four miles North of Stowe village, fifteen minute drive to Stowe Mountain. Five other alpine ski resorts within a 45-minute drive (Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Smugglers Notch, Jay Peak, and Bolton Valley). Cross Country trails at Trapp Family Lodge and Stowe or access Catamount Trail fifteen minutes away.

Summer activities include walking, rollerblading or biking the Stowe Rec Path with access five minutes away. Village shops and restaurants all within five miles. Boating and swimming opportunities at Lake Elmore or Waterbury Reservoir twenty minutes away. Or on a warm Summer day find the comfort of a swimming hole at Moss Glens Falls just three miles away!

Golf: Located within a 15-minute drive are six scenic area courses (Stowe Country Club, Waterbury Country Club, Blush Hill, Farm Resort and Copley Country Club) for a variety of terrain and skill.

Ski: Stowe Mountain Resort, the ski capital of the East, is just eight miles away. Five more ski areas (Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Jay Peak, Smugglers Notch and Bolton Valley) are all within a one-hour drive. Cross-counntry trails at Trapp Family Lodge and Stowe Mountain are a short drive as well.

Our family of 10 (7 adults and 3 children) stayed a week at this wonderful home. Robert Whitley was wonderful to deal with and the accomodations were great! We found everything we needed and more waiting for us when we arrived! Robert was very helpful and responded to emails very quickly each time we contacted him for information. I hope to return again for another family reunion! Stowe area is a beautiful place and offers many things for families to do. You can't go wrong with this home or this area! Go and enjoy!

A great place to get away

Perfect Size for our mini-family reunion. Plenty of room in the kitchen and dining room, the bedrooms are huge (each with its own bath). Close to Stowe Village and Mountain Rd., but away from the traffic, etc. We spent most evenings just relaxing on the front deck enjoying the view. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Magical Christmas vacation

Our family of 10 spent a magical Christmas vacation at this beautiful house. When we arrived the grounds were covered with snow and the snow fell magically on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

The accommodations were wonderful! The website gives an accurrate description. It was very roomy, clean and well-maintained. We found everthing we needed and then some, including sleds for the kids! The owner was excellent to deal with! Our emails were answered promptly.

We highly recommend Whit's End for a winter or all-year round destination.

You can't go wrong renting this house -- it truly felt like a home-away-from-home. All descriptions in the listing are accurate, perhaps even understated. Here's what we especially liked during our long weekend stay:
+ Keurig coffeemaker with coffee K-cups
+ BBQ grill on back deck
+ fully stocked kitchen with cookware, dinnerware, and common recipe ingredients
+ comfortable finished basement with ping-pong table, big screen TV and jacuzzi tub.
+ usable garage
+ well-maintained and clean
+ beautiful views of the mountains
+ very responsive support from owner
+ perfect getaway for quilting or scrap-booking retreat

Whit's End is like home away from home!

I would highly recommend this house. It is clean, comfortable and is perfect for one or more families. It's close to Stowe Village and Stowe Mountain Resort where the skiing was fabulous and the snow topped mountains were just breathtaking. We also went skiing at Smugglers Notch because of it adaptive ski program for my son, his instructor Ryan there was terrific. Seeing our handicapped son snowbaord down that hill was a memory we will never forget.
The owner of this home...Bob is quick to answer any questions in detail, I can't thank him enough for his hospitality. We would love to return next year!
