Autumn Cove

Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful vacation stay at Autumn Cove on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. Weather was great every day, until the morning we were packing to leave. We had light rain one afternoon as we were tubing down the lake - then the sun reappeared and the cloud was a memory. We could not have asked for better weather.

Your property was clean and perfect for our family and two visitors with enough privacy for everyone. Your dock worked well for us with my husband's boat, and I know the girls enjoyed their time floating on the water and sunning on the dock as well. The house is very well located with easy access to the boat ramp, good gas prices at Crystal Shores Marina, Kroger and Food Lion, entertainment for the teenagers and easy trash disposal, especially for first-time visitors to the lake.

We saw lots of wildlife along the river and lake. The younger members of our party were climbing up and jumping off rocks (@15 feet about the very deep water) upper part of the Roanoke River channel and a goat came through the woods to greet them. That was good for the vacation stories!

Thanks for recommending a variety of restaurants, we tried several with good results. We especially enjoyed our Monday outing to Liberty Station in Bedford, where we sampled a wide variety of foods. Yum! Sad to say, we cooked more meals in than we ate out this trip. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy our meals inside or outside outside on the nice deck.

Thanks for all your emails and for answering our last-minute questions. You made the rental process very easy for us. We will definitely return.
