Your bike can be stored safely in the locked and gated front yard. Watch the light go down under the palm tree in the front yard while you wait for you bar b q to cook.
We're writers so we know this is a perfect place to work and read, take inspiring breaks and relax. If you like to cook, we have a custom copper kitchen. Check out the photos. If you have guests for dinner we're fully equipped including extra chairs and leaves to expand the dining table

This is a wonderful place to come to alone.
Or as a honeymoon couple.
Or as a parent with special away time--with or without your kid
Or for a job away from home
15 minutes to LAX
Stylishly furnished, architectural, and comfortable
I used to rent across the walk street when I was in graduate school so fell in love with the street then and came back to buy a place as soon as I could. The area has only gotten better.
DD purchased this townhome in 1990
We love the walk streets of Venice because there are no cars driving past so its quiet in a way that is impossible on a regular street.
Whole House Water Filtration System - even the plants drink well. Weekly cleaning and laundry of sheets and towels included in the price if staying 2 or more weeks.
This was my second time in 2 trips to LA that I've stayed here. It just keeps getting better. Now there's a daybed on the sun porch - a beautiful place to read and listen to music. This place is not only quiet, private and beautiful - its spotlessly clean and comes with weekly cleaning service from the owners long time cleaning woman who is a lovely person as well. I just feel happy when I'm there.
We had a great stay at this house for the month of July. The listing and photos accurately reflected the appearance and amenities - it actually seemed a bit nicer than the photos. It was clean and well-maintained. Nice front yard for quiet sitting.
The house was a perfect size for us - a couple with an occasional guest. I would think a family would be fine as well. There is only one bathroom, so two couples might find it a bit small for a lengthy period.
We loved the location - a beautiful, quiet pedestrian-only street close to both the ocean and the restaurants and shops on Abbott Kinney and Rose Avenue. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops (and the beach), but driving is necessary to see all the LA cultural attractions.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property!
A magical garden oasis! My husband and I stayed here for approx. 10 months and we wished we could have stayed forever (however-we needed an extra room as we now have a baby on board). The house was just charming- with every amenity you could ever need and every sweet detail (french coffee press, HBO series/movie collections and beach umbrellas) ready for your use. Not to mention, the decor is simply inspiring and you often catch yourself wondering if you live in a house or perhaps are filming a scene from a movie.
As working professionals, we both worked from home and most days worked on the lovely porch, listening to the birds chirp and taking lunch on the beach (which is about a 2 1/2 minute walk from the house).
The owner of the house is an amazing woman....always there to help. She was much more than a wonderful landlord- she was and is a wonderful friend.
WE LOVED THIS PLACE and if you ever get a chance to stay here, we HIGHLY recommend you do!
Quiet, picturesque, inspiring, unique -
- the description is absolutely matching.
We stayed in the house for vacation as a family of 4 (kids 15 + 17 years old) and loved it!!!
The place is perfect being so close to the beach, shopping and restaurants on Main St. or Abbott Kinney.
And the home itself is really something special: nicely furnished and with a huge kitchen - all in copper - equipped with everything you might need for preparing great meals.
In the gated patio you feel like being in a tropical garden - the prefect retreat from lively Venice.
And now that there is a dining table outside (different from the photos) we took all our meals in the patio
Donna - the homeowner - is a great person. We loved our conversations. She is very helpful and even when she is not in town she answers all questions by email or SMS very fast!
Thanks a lot for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We definitely will be back and can only recommend the house to everybody!!!
And next time we will bring a smaller car (our Suburban felt kind of too big for the streets in Venice and the carport)
I took my 12 year old to Venice for Spring break. My husband was already staying there due to working in the area. This place was the perfect choice. The greatest shopping and restaurants on Abbott Kinney, 1 block away and now written up as the hippest street in America by GQ! Body surfing and swimming one block away in the glorious Pacific. The bicycling on the bike path together. True heaven plus the greatest bar b que ever in a fenced in totally private redwood decked yard. We're coming back next year - next Spring break!
Private, quiet, beautiful and yes romantic. We walked the one block to the beach with our split of wine + 2 glasses each night to watch the sunset then back to our cozy gated deck and private bar b que (a top notch one too) We're coming back for our first anniversary
Boogieboarding, rollerblading--one block to Venice Beach
