The home is located in a quiet area of the SE area of Martha's Vineyard. It is about 7/10th of a mile to South Beach, which is known for its amazing surf and nearly rock-free sandy beach. The home is about 2 miles from downtown Edgartown. It is across the street from homes directly on Katama Bay which now has access to the Atlantic Ocean at Norton Point. This is a gorgeous area of many upscale homes. The Katama house is a simple, classic one-level style home. There are three bedrooms each with two beds that have new mattresses. The master bedroom has a queen sized new mattress and an attached full bathroom. The living area is open with a working three-sided fireplace that backs to the kitchen. The kitchen has a large pantry and a dishwasher. There is a full sized washer and dryer on the main level. The backyard is private and large with a deck and a large 6 burner stainless steel gas grill. This is a great 3-season rental home! Brand new kitchen has been installed-beautiful

Additional Info for the House and its Surroundings: When you arrive at the house, we have a large binder of information available to you. It includes information regarding the house and yard. There is also area restaurant menus, bus schedules, taxi cab numbers and numerous ideas for activities for you during your vacation. There is also a list of important phone numbers in the event of any questions or concerns.

The location of the house is the best of the Martha's Vineyard vacation experience. You'll be less than one mile to South Beach main entrance, just yards from the public boating launch, but in a quiet, peaceful area. Much of the main areas of the island are quite busy, but not at this house. It takes just a short drive, bus ride, or a bit of a walk and you'll be in Edgartown center. We are also about 1/2 mile to the bike path.

Please bring own beach towels. Tenant can also bring own linens or use the linen renting company. Info on rental company available upon request.

This neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous. We felt so fortunate to be able to find a rental like this in this area. Our kids rode their bikes all around. We brought our wagon for the kids to walk to South Beach. We just put in the kids, our beach blanket and a lunch and enjoyed the day. It's a very easy walk down the street and not have to deal with parking the car. We also loved going to State Beach. My daughter collected the prettiest sea glass there.
After being around people all day at the beaches, the house is such a peaceful place to come back to. We grilled and drank some wine while our kids played in the backyard. The deck overlooks the entire backyard so we could watch them without a problem. I loved the one-level living!!! Everything we needed was at the house. The owners created a binder with all kinds of helpful bits of information. It was priceless on the one rainy day we had during the week. We will defininely be back in the fall 2012!

"As soon as we walked into the house, we could tell how clean it was. I didn't think there was anyone out there who was as much of a neat freak as I am. I really appreciate that! The location cannot be better. We had such a great vacation, thanks!"
