Beautiful Cottage

My husband and I chose Meritage Cottage for our third annual trip to St. John. It is easily the best place we have stayed! The location is great. We loved hiking down to Hart Bay in the morning. One aspect of a vacation villa is the comfort of the beds. The bed in this cottage is very comfortable. The cottage is well maintained. We did have to call Sinbad about some issues but he was quick to correct them. We appreciated that! The Wifi is not that reliable but it was not an issue for us. We definitely would recommend this to anyone. Places we frequented this trip are Joe's Rum Hut, Starfish Market, David's Driftwood Restaurant (excellent ribs!), Miss Lucy's in Coral Bay, and Honeymoon Bay. Hike the Reef Bay Trail if you're looking for a challenging hike! Look forward to our next trip!

Meritage is great!

My wife and I were married recently and were lucky enough to have chosen Meritage Cottage for our honeymoon. We loved our time there and are having a hard time returning to the "real world". Everything in the post is true, especially the photos. The views are beautiful and accommodations were just what we needed. The trip started with the man, Sinbad, picking us up off the ferry and "lining us out" on everything we needed to know. He was very helpful throughout our stay. The location is excellent but only if you plan on renting a car during your stay, which we highly recommend. The island has so much to offer but a vehicle is a necessity. Chris, the owner, was very helpful with questions early on in our decision to rent Meritage. If you're anxious about taking a risk in renting this spot, don't be. You'll be happy you did.

This place is AMAZING!! Highly recommend!

I can't say enough about this little slice of heaven called Meritage Cottage! We just returned and cannot wait to get back. The cottage is simply wonderful, the pictures are right on! The views are amazing and all our needs were fully met or exceeded. The owner Chris, was very friendly and always very fast and responsive with any questions I had. We were picked up at the dock in St John by Sinbad who was AWESOME!! Sinbad made us feel immediately comfortable and gave us the layout on everything. He was so much fun and we started having a blast right away. We love you Sinbad, thanks for everything! The cottage was such a peaceful place to either kick back and spend all day and make a nice meal on the patio, or to relax after a full day of adventure seeking! The island of St John is complete paradise! Make sure to get out and do all you can. For restaurants, we loved Morgan's Mango and on our last night went to Asolare. The views are incredible and the food was too. What an amazing experience all around! Thanks for providing the best vacation we've ever had! I highly recommend anyone to stay here, you will not be disappointed!

Week in Paradise

This cottage stay exceeded our expectations! The home is comfortable, tasteful, wonderfully located and had everything we could possibly need. St. John is a beautiful, peaceful island, and returning each day after our adventures to this little charming love nest made this past week the absolute best for us! We couldn't have asked for or enjoyed a better place to stay.

Just what we needed!

Tom and I are back to reality today, and I’m already homesick for the island!! Thanks so much for all your assistance, and everything worked out perfectly with the jeep rental. Gus is a real find!! What a nice man, and he was so helpful in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable (loved the beach chairs!).

The cottage was an absolute oasis—like waking up in a tree house every morning! We particularly loved coming back after a day of exploring, snorkeling and beaching for a soak in the hot tub with a nice cocktail before heading into town for dinner! One morning we walked down to Hart Bay and found FABULOUS shells and all types of coral.

All in all, another fabulous and relaxing time on St. John! Many thanks for being a big part of it with your charming Meritage Cottage!!
