2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed- 3 Baths - (Sleeps 3-6)-2 full kitchens

Rancho Tambor (Drum Ranch) is equipped with two completely separate living areas. Come with family and friends while maintaining your privacy. At no time will the house be rented to another party at the time of your rental. This guarantees complete privacy.

There are 3 FULL baths with jacuzzi spa tubs and 2 outdoor spa showers!

The private pool overlooks the forest where you can view wild parrots racing across the horizon. Each morning and evening the howler monkeys talk away! Enjoy changing sunsets that reflect magnificently off the pool from the covered porch.

The entire house is equipped with glass doors that fold back to bring the outside in, giving the open-air feeling that is typical of Costa Rican living.

There is a general manager, housekeeper, and security. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and laundry service are also, available. Guided horseback tours may be arranged.

We are located on 14 acres in the rarest of tropical forests, the deciduous tropical forest. Horseback riding is available for our guestsat no extra cost. We have a guard who will watch your belongings while you trek off to the isolated beaches of Playa Venado. There is a nearby estuary teaming with wildlife. There is a small river for kayaking. (Playa Venado 3 miles from Junquillal Costa Rica)

Beautiful peaceful home away from it all! We were surrounded by nature and the wonderful people of Costa Rica for 7 days. Loved the pool, open air house,horses and our friend/manager Freddy and his family. Maryellen was wonderful to work with, would recommend this home and location to anyone who wants to relax,enjoy nature and get away from it all. Would love to return again!

Excellent place to relax

My family of 6 stay a week in december.
We love the place, very confortable, the pool is great, and the jacuzzi in the bathrooms are great to relax.
Very nice beaches close by (with a car), "La Joya", "San Juanillo", "Junquillal", "Avellanas".
Excellent for doing mountain bike, running, horse riding.
I dont recommend for small children because of the pool. but for children that know how to swim or adults the pool is great.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

Peace and Quite near the beach

The home is very nice and fully equiped, there was even a drum set. The two apartments were also nice since we had two couples. The location is not far from the beach, and the beach is not a tourist place so only a few local were ever on the beach with us. Black sand and miles to walk with no worries. Freddy the grounds keeper was great and helped with everything. The pool was nice to return to each day and only problem was that we had to leave. Tamarindo is about 45 minutes away and the Iguanazul reseraunt is 20 minutes and great food and sunset views. I would return to this place again and again if possible. The owner was also very helpful with information since it was our first time in Costa Rica. You will love it!

Fantastic!!

I have nothing but great things to say about Mary Ellen and her staff at Rancho Tambo... Hats off to great service!! From the beginning Mary Ellen answered all of my questions and made very useful suggestions. The great service continued when we got there and met Henry and Freddy, Freddy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great one. As for the house the pictures really do not do it justice it is very clean, roomy, and equipped with everything you need. The horses were definitely one of the highlights of our vacation, I would recommend this property to family and friends.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

I left my heart at Rancho Tambor. My husband and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and never wanted to leave. The property is beautiful, clean and well kept. The horses are cared for and well trained, with great personality. The staff made us feel like family. My husband and I had a wonderful time getting to know Freddy and Gerardo, both of whom went out of their way to show us the beauty of their country and it's people as well as make sure our honeymoon was a romantic adventurous trip we'd never forget. The owner, Mary Ellen, even took the time to get to know me and help me plan and prepare for my first trip out of the country. The personal vibe of this rental experience is why I give this property an excellent rating.
