Enjoy a full 180-degree view of the water and mountains from the lanai, living room and master bedroom in this 1500 sq. ft. unit. Kailua Beach, a 3-mile long, white sand beach on Oahu's east coast is just a 7 min. drive. Great for swimmers of all ages. Use our extensive beach equipment. Kayak, swim, snorkel and fish in the bay. Paddle out out to Coconut Island where Gilligan's Island was filmed. The bay is only knee to waist deep around the shoreline. Tranquility. Kaneohe Bay is located on the lush windward or east coast of the island of Oahu. It is slightly cooler than Honolulu and Waikiki. The bay is a unique ecosystem, mixed salt water (the Pacific Ocean) and fresh water that flows off of the towering Ko'olau mountains that frame the bay. Seven minutes by car on the same street as the house is the country's best beach, the 3-mile long, white sand Kailua Beach. This is a great beach for walking, swimming, sunning, kite surfing, wind surfing and kayaking. The town of Kaneohe and its neighbor, Kailua, have great restaurants and many stores.

Waterfront: Kayak, swim, snorkel and fish from the back yard. Enjoy a full 180-degree view of the water and the soaring Ko'olau Mountains that frame the bay. Kayak out to Coconut Island where the t.v. show, Gilligan's Island was filmed. The water around the shoreline is only knee to waist deep. You can see the ocean floor and the sea life in the bay. Enjoy early morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets over the mountains. Every month, you can see the full moon setting over the mountains in the early hours of the morning. The photos you see were taken from the home's lanais and from the back yard of the house.

Beaches: The country's best beach, the 3-mile long Kailua Beach on the same street as the house is just a 7 minute drive. Provided for your enjoyment without additional cost are beach towels, toys, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, shoes and boogie boards. Kailua Beach is a great beach for swimmers of all ages and for kayaking, wind surfing, kite surfing and walking. Enjoy early morning sunrises while walking or the occasional full moon rising over the horizon in the evening. Just 20 min. by car is yet another 3-mile long white sand beach, Waimanalo Beach. Like Kailua Beach, it is wonderful for all types of activities.

Tranquility : Awaken to the cooing of doves and the rustle of wind in the coconut palms. Relax on the lanai and enjoy the serenity that nature provides. Located near 3 major 'highways' makes it just a 20-25 minute drive to the airport, Honolulu, Waikiki and Pearl Harbor. When you tire of the hustle of traveling around the island, you can come home to the tranquility of the Fern on the bay.

Gorgeous Place...Fairly Priced

My family absolutely loved this place - It was a gorgeous place inside and out. Our rental was right on kaneohe bay. Simple beautiful. My family loved the kayaks!

Very tropical property and neatly manicured...the staff went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. We were given some fruit that happened to be ripe while we were there (young coconut - and the juice- yum! we were fortunate to enjoy an passionfruit too).

This property is right on the bus line.

Resident pets were just delightful, "Thunderbird" is an incredible character. On the last day, I withnessed his walking adventure through one flight of the stairs and up the fence....he didn't fly, he walked and climbed!

FYI...this will be something I will look for in the future. This unit had hot plates (no stove, no dish washer). We went during a heat wave...this unit did not have AC. Parking was tight.
