A simply charming and private setting!

My fiance and I spent 3 days at Poppy cottage in July. We loved the simple charm of this small farmhouse cottage surrounded by the neighboring vineyard. We woke up in the morning and looked out over the endless rows of grapevines with golden hills in the background. The owner thoughtfully provided everything we could possibly need. We took long walks, cooked great meals (with local meats/produce) on the grill provided, and watched sunsets as we sipped our wine. It is located only about 6 scenic miles from Healdsburg which we found convenient. The town has many outstanding restaurants/gourmet groceries. If you need a fancy "Gucci" accomodation, this isn't it. But if you just want a lovely, rustic setting where you feel the essence of life in the wine country, this IS it. Get a good map of Sonoma Valley and enjoy the scenic drives while you head to the various wineries! Just a note: Be sure to ask Caroline if the bikes are in good condition. Our only complaint was that we couldn't ride the bikes because of deflated tires! We would stay there again on our next trip to Sonoma.
