The 'Bamboo Hideaway' has an excellent ocean view. It is situated close to an old stand of large bamboo, hence the name. Entry and parking are private and at ground level.

This accommodation offers slate floors, granite counter tops, queen bed, full bath, cooking facilities, refrigerator, and kitchen island. A large screened lanai encloses the dining and lounge area with a full 10ft.sliding glass door to the lanai and two very comfortable lounges. Free laundry facilities are available in the garage.
A short 10 min. drive will take you down to the beach, Capt. Cook monument & Place of Refuge. Great snorkeling and kayaking.
The accommodations are compact but well designed, very pleasant decor.
There are several very good restaurants and a grocery store within one mile drive.
This is a smoke free environment for your enjoyment. Sorry no pets.

The Bamboo Hideaway is hidden away on a hilltop with an unbelievable view which you can enjoy from the huge screened in lanai that has two comfy lounge chairs and a table and chairs to eat at! To sit out there with a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine was absolutely what I envisioned when we booked this unit and we never got tired of it. Super clean with spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, bright and airy. Nancy was terrific at accommodating any issues we had. A great place to explore from and so great to come back after a day of exploring to this quiet and relaxing place!
My wife and I spent 4 wonderful nights at the Bamboo Bungalow. It was everything as advertised and more. All the beach gear was super...chairs, umbrella, snorkel, fins, cooler..and even home grown bananas if you wanted!! The best part of every day (morning, afternoon, or evening) was just relaxing on the beautiful large porch with a great view of the ocean. Location just super...down the hill from a local grocery store, nearby restaurants, and quick access either to Kona or towards the Volcano. We hope to return and highly recommend this as a place to stay.
We chose to do a rental to have the access to a kitchen for ease. What this place gave us was so much more. The view is unbelieveable! There's no way to describe it with enough words to let you know how breathtaking and peaceful the view is. Pictures can not do it justice. We will be back here at some point in the future. The place was the perfect size for my husband and myself and just close enough to things to still be in a quiet and not busy location.
I was on a soul searching vacation on my own. A 49 year old woman. I was pleasantly relieved at the security I felt.I was welcomed by Peaberry(there Lab)and Kona the older lab.(who has a big bark,but thats it).Peaberry reminded me of my dog back home. IF you want complete privacy,a beautiful view of the ocean and so many extra amenities,then you have found it.The garage is stocked with beach chairs,coolers,snorkel gear,washer dryer,laundry soap..etc.for your use. The kitchen has extra goodies like spices,oil,baggies and more. The grounds and area around the home are nice for leisure walks. A short drive to two step. Greg is a wonderful host who is there if you need anything,like reseting the Internet:). I am looking forward to coming back and bringing my husband to enjoy this serene beautiful place.
I have chosen this place for my first trip to Hawaii with my boyfriend, we stand there 4 days and now I can confidently say that we will be back there again. This studio is perfect for people who loves nature and quiet vacations. In studio you can find anything you need and even more- all kitchen appliances, towels,and even robes!! The owner is a really nice guy who traveled around the world, he has 2 fun and friendly dogs, who never bothered us during all stay there. Captain Cook is located somewhere in between Kona and Volcano National Park, and just in 15-20 min ride you can reach Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Park where is one of the best snorkeling places on the Big Island. If you don`t want to spent money on snorkeling gear you can always borrow it from Greg (owner of studio), he keep it in his garage and offer it to you for free at the first day of staying. Also in garage you can find sun beds, umbrellas and ice boxes all for free. Over all everything was perfect! And we recommend this place for anyone who wants to escape from city life and dive in to wilderness :)

There are no other fees, besides the ones listed under payment terms. There is private parking and use of the washer and dryer with soap and softeners free of charge.
Our Summer rates are for new reservation, on or after May 16th, 2014. The rates are in effect for 2014 only. Mahalo.

Pricing also is included for the number of nights you have inquired about.
We list the nightly rate, GET tax of 4.16%, TAT Tax of 9.25% and the $65.00 Cleaning fee.
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
