We were here 9-15-09 thru 9-30-09
The condo is just like the pictures.. nice location.. owners are very easy to work with..
The condo is on the 3rd floor Better for view.. but have to climb.. was no problem for us.. the BBQ is down in front of the building next door so was a walk to BBQ. The beach out front was very.good and they also have a wide lawn area under palm trees if you want to get away from the sand.. Towels and chairs are there to check out..
We did not have a wonderful meal at the restaurant in the complex although there are many folks who seemed to have fared better than we did..
Poipu Beach is just a quick ride and a nice beach.. had a couple of good meals at Brennecke's across the street from the beach.. good ocean views from almost all the tables and sunsets are great.
We would go back for sure ...
Owner's Response: We feel that the statement that the beach is "just a quick ride" is misleading.................it is actually about a five minute stroll....and getting in the car is quite unecessary. If you do get in your car to get to the beach, you go from one driveway to another driveway within the resort---not out on any road. Yes, there are driveways that are closer to the beach within the resort.....but we timed "the quick ride" with a stopwatch, going at the required parking lot speed of 15 miles per hour......and found it was a 62 second "ride". Our guests have always like our proximity to the beach......The Kiahuna Resort property actually fronts the beach, and slightly slopes upwards. Our building is on the upper slope, hence we have a partial ocean view. We're perplexed as to why anyone on resort property would bother with getting in their car for a 62 second ride.......the walk through the Kiahuna's famed gardens---they are an attraction in themselves--- towards the beach is truly a lovely walk---and a five minute one at that.
