American friends in Tuscany

We were skeptical in the beginning of renting this villa because it sounded too good to be true. It turned out to be better than we ever expected. Olga Diana was so gracious and attentive to every question we had and very anxious for us to have a good time. Her sister takes care of the place when she isn't there and speaks very little English, but goes out of her way to be helpful. The beauty and history of the place was amazing and very comfortable for the 8 of us who stayed. There was plenty of room for more. We had cleaning/maid service twice while we were there for a week. It was very nice to not have to worry about that when we were busy with other things.
The location was in a village by the sea, but secluded enough that we didn't know we were so close to town. The town is charming, clean, and not very crowded in May. There are numerous restaurants and shopping places. We went there to explore Tuscany, but had a hard time leaving the house and town because it was so comfortable. It is near many towns within a day trip to visit and the train stops in town. There are walkways all along the beach for running or walking with awesome views and great stopping places.
The house had huge rooms with great space for a lot of people. All the rooms were king beds (twins put together) and baths for each. There were also two single twin rooms that were nice and spacious. From the upstairs windows you had a view of the Mediterranean and the tops of the taller domes and towers in town. We found a new room almost daily, as this house was like something out of a mystery book. The kitchen had good cooking supplies and the dining room was very large. We loved eating out in the lighted garden at night under a full moon as well. The landscaping is a work of art in itself, including an herb garden for cooking. Personal photo albums and framed art told lots of stories about the family and the area. There are also walks behind the house to a lake. The pool is huge, if you are there in the summer.
Olga described the house from her childhood as a "happy house" and I couldn't agree more. We loved it.
