Haleiwa Condo Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, Completely Renovated

Paradise awaits at this completely renovated beachfront condo in the famous North Shore!

This private, top floor condominium has direct view of the private beach and ocean in front. The condo is in the front building of the complex, allowing for beautiful ocean and sunset views. You can watch the sunsets from the front room or the breezy lanai. With Hawaiiana and Balinese decor, you'll definitely feel that you are living in the luxurious tropics. The condo has warm colors and bamboo flooring throughout.

The condo has one bedroom and two bathrooms. Everything has been completely remodeled with entirely new kitchen and bathrooms. Secured, high speed wifi is provided. The kitchen has new cherry cabinets, granite counters & new appliances/ fixtures. The counter extends into a bar area with two stools. The kitchen is fully-stocked with everything you’ll need to make and serve meals.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and its own attached full bath. There is also a TV with full cable in the bedroom. There is another full bathroom, off the hallway, closer to the living area. Both bathrooms have floor-to-ceiling tile with a spa-like feel. High-end fixtures and cabinets compliment the clean, contemporary design. Warm colors and bamboo floor create a relaxing ambiance. The condo is professionally cleaned and updated often with fresh, high-quality linens.

Most visitors find little reason to leave the Condo, as its beach and swimming area provide ideal snorkeling, turtle and whale watching. With reef protection, swimming is generally good year-round. The beach is uncrowded, providing its visitors a quiet, relaxing experience. There are communal grills and picnic tables on the grassy area in front of the building. There is also a coin-operated laundry room on the premises. Beach chairs, boogie boards & snorkeling equipment are included.

The well-known surf town of Haleiwa is less than a half-mile away. There you'll find a number of quaint restaurant and shopping options. The famous 7 Mile Stretch of surfing begins in Haleiwa with several surfing spots within walking distance from the condo. Wonderful drives & hikes surround the area. Surf lessons, stand-up-paddle (SUP) and kayak rentals are nearby as well. Honolulu is a 30-40 minute drive from the condo.

This spot is for the traveler who wants to see the 'real' Hawaii... away from the tourist traps and concrete. Whether watching world-class surfing, hiking or swimming, or just relaxing is your thing... you've found the right spot!

About Jill Paulin

I've spent a good part of the last 15 years on the North Shore of Oahu and now call it home. I love having properties that my friends and family can enjoy. I take care of my properties full-time so I think you'll find them clean and up-to-date.

Jill Paulin purchased this condo in 2003

Why Jill Paulin chose Haleiwa

If you've spent any time at Haleiwa Surf, you know the answer to 'Why this Property?'. It is a magical place. With sea turtles swimming each day and the best sunsets imaginable, there are few other places in the world this special.

What makes this condo unique

The beach is nearly private and the sunsets are amazing. It is one of the best snorkeling spots on the North Shore with abundant fish and turtles. There is a communal grill that faces the ocean.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I highly recommend this Condo. We truly enjoyed

our stay. We spent our mornings having coffee on

the beach, our afternoons swimming and watching

the turtles (which their was plenty to watch) from

the beach. To end our day we had Sunset Cocktails

at the picnic tables which was great. If you have a

chance to stay at Haleiwa Surf this is a great Condo

to do so.

Can't wait to return!

We had an amazing stay at Haleiwa Surf. On first arrival we were astounded by the location. Our very own getaway right on the ocean! You cannot beat the location. So close to everything. Most restaurants and shops are a short walk away. Haleiwa town is very quaint and looks to be renovating for more exciting shops and restaurants. Have to hit those up on our next trip.

The condo was amazing. So clean and we had everything we needed. Fresh sponges, clean towels, and everything neat and organized. We had all the dishes and essentials that we needed. It was nice to have the basics to get us started. Oh and a blender for margaritas!

The bathrooms are fabulous. They have a spa like feeling. Sorry Jill if your water bill/electric bill is high this month – my 5 year old daughter loved playing in the large shower. Since there are 2 bathrooms, we gave her the front bathroom and it was her own personal space.

The bedroom was cozy and loved the darkening curtains. The bed was very comfy and cozy. The fans made the room nice and cool. Our daughter slept on the futon in the living room. Lucky girl got to hear the ocean all night long. The curtains in the living room were dark enough that let her sleep most mornings. The other mornings she was up bright and early to head out to her favorite spot – the beach!

The beach out front is by far our favorite. Considering that it was steps away from the condo made it all so convenient. We didn’t have to pack up the car and all our things just to go to the beach. We took down our towels and beach chairs and posted up for the day. We were able to use the boogie boards and snorkels provided in the unit during our stay as well. Since our daughter is only 5 we were happy with the calm water in front of the property.

The grassy area out front was great for her to run around while we BBQ’d dinner at the grills on site. You can’t beat having a Mai Tai on the beach watching the sunset every evening. We will definitely be coming here again. We had a hard time packing up and getting our daughter in the car to leave. She desperately wanted to stay longer and so did we. Thank you Jill for inviting us into your beautiful home.

Incredible Vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had the most incredible time staying at this condo. We really didn't know exactly what to expect staying on North Shore in such a small town before we got there. Now we know there's no better way to have an incredible beach experience coupled with the enjoyment of island life.

What really made enjoying our time in Oahu easy was this condo. Jill's attention to detail in making you feel comfortable and relaxed is better than any hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are all wonderfully decorative to suit the island feel and full of comfortable and clean furniture furnishings. The amenities offered are everything you'll ever need and plenty of things you didn't know you'd need. We were honestly shocked by how nice it was and how welcoming the atmosphere of the rooms were. But for us the best part about the rental was just out back of the building.

Only a few footsteps around the building was a great beach setting. Away from all the hustle of the cities, we sometimes were the only ones sitting on this relaxing beach which couldn't have been more of what we wanted. And thanks to Jill's thoughtfulness on how what vacation goers will need, we had plenty of beach amenities available for our use. Also, if you've ever been interested in trying snorkeling, you will not believe what is just a few yards off the beach. A reef full of coral, colorful fish, and not to mention sea turtles are within easy reach for even a beginner snorkeler. Not only did we swim with sea turtles daily, a Monk Seal decided to join us in the reef one afternoon! It was absolutely incredible so keep your Go Pro cameras handy here. The outer reef calms the seas so the inner reef is easy to swim around and since Jill has the equipment ready for you when you arrive, it's an absolute must!

Haleiva is also a great launch point for exploring the island if you'd like. Really the town has everything you'd ever need but the North Shore has many great surprises for those interested in looking. The condo has a binder with great suggestions on things to do and places to eat in the area.

Ted's Bakery off Sunset beach is a must! Don't be looking for any high society Starbucks kind of a place because that's not what you get at Ted's. But the pie is incredible! Also notable was Gioanni's, Dat Cajun Guy, Seven Brother's, Matsumoto's, Kono's (breakfast), Cholo's (frozen margaritas), and the farmers market on the far north end of North Shore for fresh pinea

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm thrilled that you and your girlfriend had such an amazing time. It seems you discovered how to really enjoy the North Shore and Hawaii in general. There is a lot to do and see but some of the best moments are waiting a couple feet from the shoreline. I hope you can make it back out soon!

Nice but underwhelmed

  • 4 of 5

Seventh trip to Hawaii but our first trip to Oahu and we knew we didn’t want to be too close to Honolulu so I looked for a condo on the North Shore. It’s hard for me to rate this condo because other than the stellar beaches of the North Shore, I much prefer the other islands. However, if you are looking for a condo near the North Shore surf action, this one is very well located and within walking distance of town that has a few restaurants and food trucks.

What I really liked about this unit was that it was directly beach front. We made use several times of the beach—walking it or just hanging out and it was nice to have it right in front of our condo.

On the negative, the bedroom is in the front of the unit where the walkway and (more annoyingly) the lights are. This unit does not have air conditioning so the windows need to stay open but the light from the outside made it difficult to sleep on the queen size bed. To her credit, when I mentioned this to the owner, she came out twice—once to remove the bulb by the window and the next time to put in some room darkening curtains. By this time, we had decided just to sleep on the futon in the living room as it was cooler, darker and we could listen to the waves. However, at times I was struck by the fact that I was paying $200/night to make up and sleep on a futon each night. A few other things were frustrating—no dishwasher, no icemaker, no oven and a few lamps that had electrical shorts.

In the end, I was less than thrilled but yes, I would stay there again thanks to the quick response of the owner. I’m not sure how this fairs with other units in the area for a similar price point. I guess I just expected more.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review on my property and the 4 star rating. I appreciate the positive comments regarding my responsiveness. I live on the North Shore and work full-time on my properties. I appreciate it when guests contact me during their stay so that I can do whatever I can to make their stay more enjoyable. Since your visit, the outside corridor light has been replaced with a lower voltage light. The Association is also working on lowering the lights to just light the walkway (not the corridor). Some lighting is necessary to ensure safety when walking at night. I think the room-darkening curtains I put up during your stay should also make a huge difference. But I must say, many of my repeat guests and family love to also sleep on the futon in the living room. It is a very comfortable, inter-spring futon (10 inches thick) and its hard to beat sleeping 30 feet from the waves. At least you have options! I would like to clarify a couple points you made for future guests. The town feels quaint, but there are a lot of shopping and eating options. My condo has a state-of-the-art, built-in Microwave/ Convection Oven. I've baked with it many times and it works wonderfully. I'm not sure about the electrical comment. Perhaps this had to do with the weather during your stay....or something else happening at the complex. Lastly, I think my condo is an amazing value for $195/night. I travel extensively and have never found a spot, right on the beach, upgraded like my condo for under $300/night. I hope you find this response fair and continue to visit and enjoy these beautiful islands!

Peaceful million dollar view!!

The condo is exactly what the description and pictures show. Very clean and well renovated. Quiet environement with only the sound of the waves both day and night.. very relaxing! Amazing beach for snorkelling and walking. We walked for morning coffee to town center Coffee Gallery (15-20min) and jogged to next door Kaiaka Bay Beach Park... Also close by car to world renowned beaches!! Mahalo Jill for everything! David Doucette

Too Many Negatives

  • 1 of 5

First of all, l wanted to believe all the nice things I'd read here, but the owner's communications and refusals to give me the address so I could pass it on to my wedding photographer was my first clue that there was going to be issues. Having no warm water at the condo was just unacceptable. Paying cleaning fees to clean the condo ourselves is a joke. The property itself is gorgeous and in a great location. Maybe find another unit to stay in?

Owner's Response: Well, every once in awhile a Guest Review takes you by surprise. I reviewed all of my correspondence with this guest and did not find the emails she was referring to. I asked that she forwarded those to me and we found out that she had emailed them to The requests never got to me. I also confirmed with my current guest (who arrived the day after this guest left) that the condo was very clean and had hot water. I pride myself in my responsiveness. I never received one phone call from the guest either before or after arriving at the condo. I can't imagine not calling an Owner if there wasn't hot water. Lastly, I have the best cleaner on the North Shore. He takes so much pride in every cleaning he does. I have managed my own properties for over 15 years with care and thoughtfulness. Please know that this review is completely inaccurate. I think the other positive reviews tell the real story.

Wonderful, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed four stunning days in the North Shore and would stay here again in a heartbeat. The condo is lovely, clean, convenient and right on the beach. I cannot say enough about how relaxing the setting is, with the sound of waves lulling you to sleep each night. And if you like to snorkel, there are many turtles to meet just 3 feet underwater just steps away!
