Adequate but not great

Our in-laws rented Alice's Wonderland for the entire month of January 09 and my family joined them for 1 week. While the location couldn't have been better, the house itself has a LOT of wear and tear and didn't seem all that clean. The pros: Nice TV in the family room, nice pool, great spa, wireless internet worked great, nice pool table, manangement people were very nice, for an extra fee we could bring our dog, and easy access to shopping/restaurants/etc. Cons: The bedrooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos, the heat and air conditioning system didn't seem to work properly (the house was freezing in some of the bedrooms), there were missing light bulbs in many of the lamps throughout the house, the hot & cold water knobs are reversed in all of the bathrooms, there are knicks and stains throughout the walls/floor of the house, all of the bedrooms are off of the family room (which is tiled and doesn't absorb ANY sound) so it is very loud (especially in the morning!), the pinball machine in the garage/game room was so loud we had to stick a pillow over the speaker just to stay in the room, the slot machine was broken, and the sound quality on the free house phone was so poor we ended up having to use our cell phones the entire time we were there. So, in summary, we certainly wouldn't rent this home again. If we hadn't gotten such a great rate we probably would have complained or asked for some money back. As it was though I guess you get what you pay for!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. We do try to show all of the house and bedrooms exactly as they are in real life. The a/c and heating system is fully functional, it gets serviced twice a year. Sorry about the pinball machine sound, it can be turned down, we will do that. I would like to request that if you ever have any problems with the home whatsoever that you call us and we will rectify it immediatley, we cannot fix it for you after you have left. We have staff on call 24 hrs a day. Glad you all had a great time and we would love to have you stay with us again, we do have other homes if this one did not suit you.
